Dr. Yamitza Cordero-Ferrer, MD

If you are like me and have multiple health issues, finding the right doctor is the biggest blessing and you just thank God when you find a great doctor.  Having multiple health issues can only be tackled by finding a great doctor. I am fortunate that I have found Dr. Cordero-Ferrer as my internist.  As a patient, it's extremely important to feel secure that this person is working really hard to make you better.  Listening, eye contact. Asking questions that make you say wow to yourself, how did she know that.  These are the great doctors that practice to help their patients and refuse to stay within that little box that most doctors stay.  They welcome the challenge.  I have confidence when my appointment is over and I know that I am in good hands.  A sick patient needs the best team on their side...when they leave their appointment the doctor has been able to open another door and that's how you know that you are in good hands.  You have to be your own advocate and you will get… better when you have a great team and being your own advocate can be accomplished when you find a great doctor.  It doesnt just happen ..keep searching and dont settle.  Thank you Dr. Ferrer. I had to give up my NY Dr. and who was THE best and was not sure how a new doctor would by. Dr. Cordero-Ferrer is by far THE BEST doctor I have ever had next to my OBGYN! She takes time to find out everything about you, why was I on certain medicine and she discovered I did not need the medication and weaned me off. She also found why my blood tests are the way they are by asking the lab to run a list of test, because Dr. Cordero-Ferrer had a feeling it was not what others thought. She turned out to be right. There was nothing wrong with me, except I only need B-12 in higher doses than most and my blood tests will always show things because of genetics, not any illness. To figure this out, she asked my mother to get a blood test and they were identical in levels, showing its just genetics and not illness, not diet, and there is nothing wrong with us. I do not get nervous going to this doctor, I feel so at ease. She is truly an expert in the field. She is so far ahead of so many… doctor in her level of knowledge and science. She does not ever over medicate or rush to medicate, she always first works on the body to let the body heal if it needs healing. She never over prescribes, she choose first for the body to heal itself naturally by showing you what you can do with diet and exercise and talks to you about how to think and react to things in life, teaching how to breath to get rid of anxiety, and it works! She takes time with every patient, so you might wait 30 minutes, but its because she talks with you, she wants to know how you have been since she last saw you, how is your family, your job, are you happy, do you need to talk about anything. It's amazing! I recommend Dr. C-D! My mother and I go, we have recommended friends. They love her. We feel like we are visiting a friend who just happens to examine us. I cannot say enough! This is an old-fashioned doctor who is there for you no matter what. She hugs you! Consider her if looking for a new doctor, you will be thankful, glad!
