He saved my life

Dr. Yaniv Chen listened and spent the time needed to help with my problem. He answered all questions and was compassionate. I highly recommend this office and this excellent doctor.

I came to see the doctor for cognitive deficits experience 7 weeks ago possibly due to a deer tick. He is about to run several tests to explore a range of possibilities. As someone who studied neurofizz as an undergraduate, I felt no doubt that he knew his stuff. His focus during the evaluation was keen and his willingness to wait patiently as I attempted explanations was refreshing. He may just have undone a 20 year misdiagnosis. If correct, this will radically alter my life for the better. I think you can trust him ps. His PA was awesome as was the other staff I dealt with. Good vibes overall.

To state: “beware of indiscriminate online feedback” and “anyone could write any feedback” is hypocritical and sanctimonious (not to mention, grammatically incorrect). You are writing your own review and giving yourself 5 stars, which is the epitome of "fake" reviews. Furthermore, to include a patient’s full history in a post is beyond any professional or moral boundary -- a patient that you vehemently stated did not identify him/herself. Are HIPAA laws being violated here? I suggest you check yourself. ("The HIPAA Privacy Rule establishes national standards to protect individuals' medical records and other personal health information" -- check your bulletin board and re-read this law.) First and foremost, you are dealing with sick people/a sick person, someone who has stated they have a terminal illness. It is incomprehensible how a doctor’s office would be so set on defending themselves at a patient’s expense. You have just revealed the true colors of this office and its regard… for its patients. You are providing a medical service to people, not to cars or televisions, but to people. Online reviews and posts are permitted by anyone who has an opinion. This is exactly why you should treat your patients with the utmost respect. When the service is bad, you will hear about it. I would strongly (and I mean strongly) advise these providers to replace/manage/pay their practice staff better, and to restrict the online commentary before first reviewing. Whether or not whoever wrote this post meant to turn around any opinion of this office, they have done the opposite. Crass, unpleasant, discourteous, and uneducated front desk staff representing your office is lazy and indefensible, and has affected your reputation. See reviews on: Google, Vitals.com, Yelp, Healthgrades, and RateMDs. When there is consistency across the board, you cannot point a haughty finger at a short post by a sick patient. For anyone reading this post, do your research, the proof is in the reviews. And look at other neurologists in the area and see the difference. (Dr. Peter McAllister, for instance.) And for the patient who expressed his/her opinion about how poorly they were treated, I am sorry that you are sick. I hope you have found a practice that has placed your needs first, and that you are finding treatment that is bringing you relief and comfort.

A word from the doctor’s office (in response to a patient’s claim at the bottom that he was misdiagnosed): We are writing to give our perspective on the comment left at the bottom. We live in a trying time, where anyone could write any feedback they would like online without any verification or fact checking on the part of the platform websites, and undermine one’s work and name without giving it a second thought. So we would like to go through some fact checking… First, the patient who wrote the comment did not identify themselves. Second, this patient is known to us, and had a thorough investigation with MRIs, EMGs, bloodwork and more. He had been seen a number of times without any findings on his exam and without any progression. Third, he was not told he had a “somatization disorder” despite the fact that this may be the likely diagnosis. Rather, when he started asking for us to apply to his insurance to get “a wheelchair” without any evidence of weakness and while he was… casually strolling into our office every time. We told him that in good faith we could not help him anymore, as we found nothing wrong with him. Fourth, we know the community of Neurologists around us, and we notify each other if “a terminal illness” was missed, and that was not the case here. Again, it is unfortunate that platforms such as this exist that allow indiscriminate non-factual information to be written. We had written to the website administrators and got no answer back. Please note that the website does not ask for any identifiers for verification, not even an email, so I would take anything that is written here with a large grain of salt. –Neurological Specialists

This is one of the top neurologist in the region. Believe me, I have been to a bunch. The guy is so knowledgeable, takes his time, thinks out of the box and finds solutions to your problems. Couldn't be happier!

I have been bringing my mother to Dr.Chen for many years after she had suffered a stroke in 2016. Dr. Chen basically saved her life, deciding to give her a clot buster(TPI?) when she came to the hospital. She could not move or talk when we brought her, and after being treated with Dr.Chen she has been able to get her life again. We are very grateful. He is very patient and listens at length. A popular doc in the community and a very good diagnostician. - Bob

Terrible approach and experience. Worst of all I was misdiagnosed. Took more time pyschoanalyzing me, instead of dealing with the neurological problem. After receiving a second opinion elsewhere, I now know I have a terminal illness and not a psychological issue.

Had been dealing with epilepsy all my life, that had been poorly controlled. Since finding Dr. Chen and having my medications adjusted I have become seizure free for the last year! He is a compassionate guy, that listens and shows empathy, while being pragmatic and decisive about diagnosis and treatment.

found dr chen a little condescending- and felt that he was annoyed while i accompied my son during his initial visit- even tho he is young and sends message that you cannot have dialog with him (hoping that will dissipate in time) i will for the sake of my son give him another chance if needed otherwise ill b sending my son to another
