Dr. Yara Cameron, MD

Y. Letitia Cameron, MD grew up wanting to be a veterinarian, but later chose to pursue a career in medicine where she could use her fascination with physiology and love of problem solving to help relieve suffering in those around her. Letitia is passionate about cardiology because it encompasses preventative medicine, invasive procedures and making a difference in a patient’s quality of life. She finds great joy in seeing the impact of her care on her patients. For example, having a heart failure patient report that they were able to actively spend time with their grandchildren instead of watching from the sidelines or seeing the relief of a patient’s family when she restores blood flow to the heart during a heart attack. Born and raised on a farm in rural Alberta, Canada with a surrounding population of 300 people, Letitia was able to remain active in her community. She played the violin and flute as well as competed in three dance disciplines. When she isn’t practicing medicine, …Letitia can be found skiing, hiking and doing anything outdoors with her husband, child and dogs. She still enjoys spending time on the family farm. And since she’s Canadian, Letitia lives for hockey season.
