Dr. Yelena Makarov, MD

My father was a patient of doctor Makarov for a few years. She did not treat him correctly. Finally took him for a second opinion. After thoroughly evaluating my father ( for more than an hour), second doctor confirmed that medication prescribed by Dr Makarov did not help treating my father's condition, Just the opposite. It made his condition worse. Please stay away from this doctor. I know very a few phychiatrists are accepting insurance and it may be very tempting to go to the doctor that accepts insurance, but it comes with a cost. Also on a day of a visit there were about 7-10 people waiting for the appointment. This is a physciatrist office - not your primary care physician office during the flu season. Respected psychiatrist spends about an hour with his patient. It is hard to find a correct medication for a patient with mental illness. the same medication works for some patients and have a completely adverse effect for other patients with similar symptoms. Only if doctor… spend enough time with patient he can get a correct picture. If 7-10 patients are waiting for an appointment you can't get a quality treatment. And it may be very costly not only for you as a patient, but your family , your quality of life, your career.

Dr Makarov is excellent.in her field. She is patient, compassionate very caring and sift spoken. She is there to help. I will not change her.
