Dr. Yelena Yermak, MD

It has been a few years since I had a few sessions with this cold as ice woman. She has absolutely no empathy; she was very judgemental and told me that she was not here to listen to my needs, just to write out scripts for me. However, she did tell me she believed I was very mentally ill and should seek out a therapist. Since we never spoke during my visits, I don't know how she formed this opinion of my mental health. I believe that was my last visit to her.

I tried to end my life in May due to PTSD and severe chronic pain from hEDS. I am diagnosed w both. She was the attending psych at Put Hosp who met w me three times for five mins. She violated HIPPA by speaking to my abusive mother. She refused to speak to my doctors who dxd me. Refused to call them. Believed my mother instead that I was crazy. As soon as I met her I could tell she didn't believe a word from me. I told her she never had my consent to speak to my mother but it was too late. I also overheard her speaking extremely loudly (that's just how her voice is) and presumptively about me and laughing at patients. She didn't believe me about anything, even when I lost my apartment while in the hospital. It was a nightmare. When I overheard her say that I started crying (and I didn't mean to overhear anything, I just got off the phone which is right by the nurses station) which made her yell for someone to take me and put me in my room until I'd calmed down. All I'd done was start… sobbing. There was no reason to put me in my room, but I had to play along to get out. It was incredibly retraumatizing and upsetting. Big heads up to other patients w PTSD esp women, she will not believe you. And forget it if you have a genetic physical condition on top of that, even if proven by four different doctors. If she ever reads this she'll probably just smile bc she'll know no one would believe me. She n my mom should get coffee sometime. Wait, who knows, maybe they have.

Staff was professional and the Dr. was through and well informed
