Dr. Yen P Vo, MD

First, I'd like to clarify that she now practices in Hillsboro, OR. I've been putting off writing a review about this doctor since I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I just have to do it now. The first time I met her, she sat leaning backwards and just sort of starred at me. I was being seen for something specific and new (to me) so this wasn't a "get-to-know-you/yearly physical" appointment. She alternated between asking me questions and just starring at me - which is extremely awkward under any circumstance. I felt like I was being interrogated; repeatedly asked the same series of questions like police are trained to do when they are looking for inconsistencies. As I have had additional appointments with her, I've only grown more anxious in her presence. In my experience, if it's a doctor you like and the relationship is good and healthy, they start to feel like a friend and trust is built - TRUST that helps develop a Dr.-patient relationship that is… crucial to being able to seek care and be treated PROPERLY. I feel like I can't be open around her. I'm often made to feel guilty for things that are out of my control and often feel left in the dark about why she does anything - she's so vague it's frustrating!! Won't bother having an actual conversation - she just talks at you. She'll agree one visit about things you may say and the next time it's like she forgets. I also get the feeling that she doesn't like people who research anything about their own health because she really will avoid having any sort of helpful conversation. Just more of the same questions and tests and vagueness. Really feels like she doesn't know what to do...is she just playing doctor? How'd she ever get through medical school!? One of the most cold, impersonal, incompetent doctors I've ever had to deal with and even though it's easy to get an appointment with her, I always walk away feeling like I wasted my time and money.
