Summary
Dr. Yev Freyvert is a dual-fellowship-trained Neurosurgeon who comes to Houston Methodist after completing seven years of residency training at UCLA. In residency Dr. Freyvert finished an enfolded fellowship in Spinal Oncology followed by an additional year of Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Fellowship at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle.
Dr. Freyvert spent his childhood in the Bay Area in California where he became engaged with medicine very early in his education. Starting in high school, Dr. Freyvert performed biomedical research in multiple laboratories at the University of California at San Francisco, Berkeley, and Stanford. In college, Dr. Freyvert was recruited to work for a biotechnology firm at the forefront of genetic engineering. After completing his undergraduate degree at Berkeley and four fruitful years in biotechnology, Dr. Freyvert embarked on his medical journey by pursuing a medical degree from the State University of New York at Syracuse.
As a …scientist, Dr. Freyvert has helped to develop advanced electrosurgical tools, new methods of genetic therapy, and treatments for spinal cord injury. Much of his work has resulted in products and therapies that are now used to treat patients and advance scientific research around the world. His research has been presented widely at national conferences and has garnered institutional, local, regional, and national recognition.
In his spare time, Dr. Freyvert enjoys travel and spending time with his wife and son. He is an avid outdoorsman and is working on summiting the highest point in every US state and on every continent. He summited the highest point in Texas in 2015 and is excited to return to this beautiful state to provide care for its vibrant communities.

Dr.Freyvert is one of the best doctors I have ever been to and I am old and have lived all over the country. He is very friendly and takes his time to explain the course of treatment and as if he is reading your mind addresses several areas of questions you might have even before you get a chance to ask them. I am very thankful I have found him.
