Dr. Yew Cheong Choo, MD

Dr. Choo performed a robotic complete hysterectomy on me in 2014. It was a successful surgery with a quick recovery and praise God no cancer after years of biopsies and my Momma being diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2013. He was her surgeon and first oncologist and he was able to bring her through to a short remission before retiring from OCSRI. She lost her battle after a five years but we are grateful for the time we gained.

Dr. Chop removed a stage lll ovarian cancer more than 15 years ago. He reported a 20% chance of recovery. Dr. Choo treated me for more than a year, including 7 months of chemo. He never gave up on me. I continue to be cancer free today. Thank you, Dr. Choo!

In 2007, I was diagnosed w\ stage 3B cervical cancer, facing a very Grimm prognosis. I had a large, orange sized tumor On My cervix. It had wrapped itself around my bladder via my cecerian scar. !at, 2015 was my anniversary of my diagnosis. There is less than a 35% survival rate after 7 years with the type of cancer I had. I owe my life to Dr Choo. My family and I are so blessed to have had those magic hañds doing God's work. I wouldn't be here to enjoy my grand babies had we not crossed paths. Can never thank him enough.

Terrible experience with Dr. Choo as my sister's physician for cervical cancer. He led her to believe that she could recover from her illness and that there were viable options for her, which, in the end, only caused her more pain and suffering and gave her and her family false hope. He did not tell her or us that she was terminal - we had to hear that from other physicians once she was admitted to a hospital! His main nurse, Serena, was rude and uncaring. I wish to God that Dr. Choo had not been on my sister's case. He was extremely difficult to understand with his accent and he never once told us how really bad her situation was. Please get a 2nd opinion ASAP before you regret it. Good Luck.

I have a history of Congestive heart failure, and this surgery was the best option for me. It was difficult for the doctor as I'm 300lbs, and have alot of scare tissue from 5 c-sections. I had a grapefruit size mass on my ovary that turned out to be cancerous and had all my female parts removed. I was home in 26 hours and back to work the next day at my desk job. Very Satisfied with the doctor, and he's quite humble about his abilities.

Dr. Choo has caused me to develop lymphedema after ripping out my lymph nodes for an in situ cancer. He didn't warn me about the risks of taking out lymph nodes. When I developed it, he refused to see me. I DEMANDED that he see me 9 mo. later, and he prescribed my diuretics. Diuretics are NOT a prescribed treatment for lymphedema. Why is it that I know this, but he does not?
