Dr. Yiping Rao, MD

I was referred to Dr. Rao because the Gastro doctor I had been seeing had retired and I was experiencing severe stomach problems. My initial contact was with Kim and she was so kind and helpful and was able to get me an appointment within a few days of my initial call. When we arrived for the appointment the other staff members were also courteous and helpful. A staff member had already taken all of my medical information and my description of my problem, so Dr. Rao's examination of me wasn't extensive - I didn't expect it to be. I knew that I was going to need an endoscopy done. His staff was able to get the procedure scheduled in just a few days. After the test was done, Dr. Rao did discuss my condition in detail with my husband and answered all of his questions. My condition is on-going and I won't hesitate to contact Dr. Rao or his staff with any follow-up visits.

I went for a procedure, Dr. Rao was the specialist, and everything I endured with this procedure was done with professionalism and care. Starting from the staff team at the hospital down to him. I was extremely nervous going under, but everyone and I mean everyone that participated, performed with a high level of performance. The medical staff, were warm and gracious, and if I had to do it all over again with the same team, I would. My only drawback was pain in my neck, and the was due to the way I was positioned after recovering. I guess I was in the nodding position, still groggy from the anesthesia. I just wish someone had straightened or propped my head up. All in all, everything went well.

Please do not go to this doctor. I have never been treated this horrible by someone or told that I have no choice in my own medical care. Threatens patients and makes the very uncomfortable. Doesn't allow anyone to refuse something or try to do something an alternative way. Happy to have gotten away from him and will never go back to him. So bad that I would be afraid for even my worst enemy to go to him. Please avoid him.

In today's medical environment, it is unusual to find a physician who will spend time with his/her patients. It is usually an in-out experience. With Dr. Rao, you know that he cares about your health because of the quality time he spends listening to you and explaining your diagnosis and treatment. For me, this is most important for good health. I would recommend Dr Rao to anyone.
