Dr. Yitzhak Joel Rosen, MD

I am writing this review as a practicing physician with over 30 years of clinical experience and as a recent patient of Joel Rosen. This was clearly my worst experience with a healthcare provider. Joel makes many promises, but delivers on few. At our first visit, I was assured that i would be cared for by either him or his partner. However, when i had an incident and needed his care - both he and his partner were on vacation at the same time. Rosen signed out his patients to a nurse in Albuquerque! He also promised that he would follow me in the hospital; however, when i required hospitalization, he showed up once to tell me that he no longer had privileges and could offer little. You need to be very careful with how they bill since they do not discuss their bills with you but charge your credit card directly; therefore, if you dispute you need to go through your credit card. They charge for everything and do not accept insurance - i was charged $110 when Rosen called in a… refill. In addition, their charges are significant - $600 for a bag of salt water! When i called to dispute the charges, I was told that i was lucky to have them as my physicians and was then hung up on. I am currently disputing charges since they were unnecessary! Santa Fe Mobile understands the Santa Fe primary care market; however, unfortunately they are part of the problem and not part of a solution. Joel knows how to market his services and he is charming on the first visit; however, he is not a very good physician and lacks integrity. Prior to his current role as a primary care physician, he was a hospitalist. Unfortunately, he has forgotten how to really care for patients. I realize that there are very few good choices for primary care in Santa Fe; however, Joel Rosen should be avoided.

He took care of my husband last month. Is Very caring and compassionate. Communicates very well and is never in a rush.

Dr. Rosen, as the hospitalist at Chrystus St. Vincent's, went over and obove the average doctor when treating both my husband in 2013 and me in 2015. Not only is he extremely professional in both demeanor and actions, but he has the best bedside manner of the many doctors who have treated me. He was highly sympathetic after I had emergency procedure while convincing me to enroll in the excellent rehabilitation unit associated with St. Vincent's hospital. I would have made a grave error burdening my family with the serious side effects of a brain surgery. But Dr. Rosen calmly and rationally convinced me, that despite being so close to Christmas when I just wanted to go home, rehabilitation would be the most helpful thing for my family and I. He was completely correct. He treated my husband, who had undiagnosed hyperthyroidism, equally well. We trust our lives to him and give him the highest recommendation possible.
