Dr. Yogesh K Desai, MD

If I could give this man 0 stars I would. He was the doctor who " treated" my son for an inpatient stay. My son was in the hospital for almost 4 days. Dr Desai saw him ONE time for five minutes his first day and never again. He had no kind of productive conversation with my son. He didn't listen to anything my son tried to tell him. My son was described at being calm and cooperative his entire stay yet this doctor kept prescribing him meds that had him so drugged out of his mind he was vomiting and couldn't see straight.( Side note about that unit....Nurses gave meds without clearing with me first and when I asked about what meds that were being given were for I was met with answers like " I am not sure....let me google it" ) I never once during that stay got to see or speak with the doctor....not even over the phone....and he was treating my MINOR child. I finally demanded he be released and the nurse told me the doctor was not comfortable with that. Did he ever call me or come… speak with me? NOPE just went a head and discharged him.Avoid the mental health unit at Mansfield and avoid Dr Desai at all costs. Look into him....you will find I am NOT the only person with these kinds of complaints. I filed a complaint with the medical board! This man should NOT be practicing!!

This "doctor" does not care at all. I waited an hour and a half along with other patients in the waiting room. We begin talking and EVERY SINGLE ONE of us had the same appointment time of 1:30. The real shocker? HE WASN'T EVEN IN THE BUILDING! We all watched him come in. Once finally called back, he asked why I was there and I told him I have never been on a medication for depression, but that I thought it was necessary as I did not feel like myself. I was literally out of his office in 5 minutes. He prescribed something that had only been on the market 6 months at that point. (I was not aware of this and had asked him for something with a good overall reputation for working). On a low dosage, I had side effects of sleep paralysis where there would be an ominous dark figure near me anytime I would drift off. This created paranoia throughout the day. I began having what felt like zaps of electricity in my head. The side effects were unbearable, but I read that I needed to gradually… come off the drug in order to get off it. I made another appointment with him to discuss the side effects. He told me I was exaggerating about the side effects and that they will go away and that I should stay on. He gave me no advice for coming off of it. There are many forums of people discussing the same side effects I had. I found online how to decrease the drug slowly in order to come off of it. I will never return and suggest anyone reading this to not go to him ever.

Dr. Yogesh Desai has always from the beginning of care in his office made me feel very comfortable and cared about. I would give him a 10 out of 10 but on here it's only five star so that's as high as it can go

This guy is unprofessional. He is always late, appointment times mean nothing, he triple books and when you do see him. It's for a few minutes.

This guy is a complete disgrace. He should not be practicing medicine. I realize he is probably the only available psychiatrist in the Mansfield area...if you have to drive to Columbus, do it!!

Charges $150.00 dollars, in his office less thank 10 minutes, Doesn't care about you or your problems. Just cares about his money. He should be ashamed robbing people that have Mental problems. Will never go to him again, or recommend him to anyone. I went to report him to the Board or Psychiatry, but he's not even certified. I should have done my homework!!!

I was recommended to see Dr. Desai by my pcp. This guy is a joke! My first appointment, I waited an hour and a half to see him. My second (and will be my final) visit with him I waited over two hours. Unacceptable! When I finally got in to his office he asked me why I looked so anxious. When I told him I had to go to work he got an attitude with me and said I should have known better. I told him the medication he gave me wasn't working so he writes a script for the same thing plus another one. The receptionist was rude as all get out too! She acted like waiting two hours to be seen was no big deal. He might as well be a walk in clinic at this point!

This guy is worthless. I should have known when the patients in the waiting room started talking about him. He falls asleep in the middle of the session, All he wants to do is take your money and move you along. I apparently made the mistake of telling him that I took my son to see a neurologist and that the neurologist had plans on sending him his report. This quack said he couldn't do anything till he got that report. I asked him what he would have done if we hadn't gone to see a neurologist and he told me he would recommend that we go see one. He didn't want to hear the problems we were having or what we had to tell him so he could make his own diagnosis, he wanted the opinion of the neurologist. He said "I don't know what medication you need without that report". This quack needs his license revoked!!!
