Arel Jacobs, ARNP, specializes in adult cardiology. He has a nursing background in critical care. Arel believes excellent care requires a balance between clinical knowledge and compassion, along with a recognition of the patient as a vital partner in their care. To this end, he feels it is just as important for him to have effective communication skills as clinical acumen, taking the time to ensure that his patient understands their condition and treatment options so they can make the best possible decisions for themselves. Arel takes the time to ensure he sees and hears what each patient is telling him. He never wants to miss the person he is caring for in all the images and labs that attend their care. Understanding that everyone has different learning needs and communication styles, he strives to accommodate these differences so he can effectively partner with his patients in directing their care according to their personal beliefs and values.
