Dr. Yongsik Chris Johng, MD

He was on call during a winter storm. I was to be induced by another OB that worked along side of him in his practice but was unable to make it to town because of a severe blizzard. I had never met him during the rotations at the clinic before this time. When labor finally kicked in, he came to meet me and my husband. He is very logical and professional and knowledgeable beyond belief. He was brief as he was the only doctor that night overseeing all of us women on the OB floor. During the labor part, I was stalking and couldn't muster enough strength to push the head down and out of the birth canal. He told me that my failed epidural (only worked on one side) was robbing me of my pushing strength. I took his advice and had the pump shut off. He started out counting during the contractions and realized I did better when I pushed when my body told me to do so. My daughter was born shortly after his advice. Her head came out and then her arm shot out quickly after and he yelled "we've got… a cowboy!" In his Korean accented voice. It was the funniest thing I had ever heard in such extreme pain in my life. He was funny and caring and really involved in the well being of my entire family. If and when we have another child, I plan to see him again. He's amazing at complicated situations and a breeze to trust. I will recommend him time and time again.
