Dr. Young Lu

I was referred to Dr. Lu due to my scoliosis. Having never seen a doctor who treats scoliosis before I had high hopes for some information to help me live a more normal life.. Dr. Lu was 45 min. late coming in the room, pleasant and apologetic. He did a quick assessment, asked a few questions, pointed to the xrays on the computer screen and said he was an orthopedic surgeon but would not recommend surgery for my severe scoliosis due to my age. That was fine with me, I did not want surgery at age 80. He said I should go back to the pain management doctor and have injections to help with pain. I told him I had done that with minimal results and hoped he could suggest something else besides pain meds and injections. He then suggested PT which I have also had but not directly for my back. He again said that he was a surgeon and his job was to do surgery but I was not a candidate so PT was all he could suggest. I should not have been sent to this doctor who told me he did nothing else for… my condition but surgery. It was already known that I did not want surgery at my age and have tried most other treatment modalities with minimal effect. Dr. Lu did what he could ....refer me out .

Very personable ! He seemed to do a great job figuring out what I needed.
