Dr. Yuliya Zinger, MD

If I could give her no stars I would. My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 9 (now almost 12) we are currently in the children's hospital for repeated episodes. Unfortunately they did not show up on the eeg so she was very quick to dismiss our concerns. She was rude and rushed and has no business working with children. She made my daughter super uncomfortable everytime she came in. Took her phone from her and said she didn't need one and said she needs seen for depression because she was sleepy....she had a high dose of keppra to try and stop the seizures....THATS WHY SHES SLEEPY

My daughter saw Dr. Zinger after experiencing a first seizure at age 9 and after her EEG came back abnormal. From the start, Dr. Zinger had a poor bedside manner. As a parent who didn't know anything about seizures or epilepsy, I didn't know what questions to ask and Dr. Zinger was not one to share information without a direct question being asked. We began medication at a low dose. After a few weeks, it was clear to me that my daughter's behavior had changed. She was increasingly moody, defiant, showed less interest in school and activities, etc. When I discussed this with Dr. Zinger she made me feel like I was silly for thinking something was wrong. She said my daughter was likely on too low of a dose of the medicine and increased the dose. She dismissed my feelings as just being "the age" of my daughter. We continued to see Dr. Zinger for about a year - throughout this time my daughter's seizures continued and Dr. Zinger just kept saying the dose was too low. She was also dismissive… when I called to ask questions like "can we give her cold medicine or does it interact with her prescription medicine." Then we started to have a hard time getting in touch with Dr. Zinger. Over the course of two weeks, my daughter had 3 seizures and I never heard back from Dr. Zinger after multiple phone calls. It was at that time I decided to seek out a second opinion. After the months it took to make an appointment with a new neurologist, have another EEG done, etc. it turns out that Dr. Zinger had prescribed a medicine used for focal seizures, when my daughter's EEG was inconclusive as to the type of seizure she was having. We changed to a different medication that can be used for both generalized and focal seizures (which was an 18-week process), but after changing medications my daughter's seizures are controlled and her mood has done a complete turnaround. I can't help but feel like if I had just trusted my instincts when we first started meeting with Dr. Zinger (or if she had listened to my concerns) it would have saved us a year of frustration and continued medical concerns.

Nada profecionar, no deberia trabajar de neurologa pediatrica. Necesita urgentemente tratamiento psiquiatrico. Muy grosera y mi nene se sintio muy intimidado y tan solo tiene 5 anos. No debieron contratar algo asi si ya saben todas las opiniones de este ser humano.

Met with Dr. Zinger today because my son has been experiencing nocturnal seizures. She was rushed, removed and almost indifferent regarding my son's condition. Geisinger is a great hospital! This is a very poor doctor!

Before she even sat down, introduced herself, or discussed my daughter’s test results, the first words out of her mouth were, “So we need some medication, huh?” My husband and I also had to pry every bit of information that we got about our daughter’s condition out of her. She provided virtually none on her own. To make matters worse, she spent half the appointment thinking that we were talking about my infant son instead of my toddler daughter! She kept referring to “the baby”, which I thought was weird, but figured perhaps it was a language barrier or cultural thing. Then she gestured towards him and I knew I was wrong. Unbelievable!

Did not even take the time to listen to the issues I was having with my child. Terrible bedside manner. Kept telling me I was wrong when my family has the same condition in our genes! Was diagnosed by another doctor in the same practice. She's a terrible dr and should not be dealing with children either. Scared my son and did not make him feel comfortable at all!

Should NOT be working with children. Very nasty woman who interrupts & speaks over you. Belittled my child while she was in room due to her... well her bedside manor
