Yes — I’d add that and make the ending hit harder while still sounding credible enough for a public review: I guess I should have checked her reviews before choosing her as my provider. For starters, I have been dealing with serious urinary problems for approximately 4–5 years. From the beginning, Yumi repeatedly told me that these problems were “in my imagination,” with my wife sitting right there and hearing it. This wasn’t said once during some misunderstanding—it happened multiple times. Since then, my urinary problems have been objectively documented by my urologist, and I have undergone FOUR urologic surgeries. Yet even after all of that, I still felt like she was trying to explain away a documented physical problem as something that was simply “in my brain.” Then there is my brain tumor. I have had a benign brain tumor since I was approximately six years old, and I am supposed to have it monitored. During all the years I have seen her, she only referred me ONCE for a… checkup until now. This time, I finally have another appointment because we repeatedly called and practically begged to get the follow-up taken seriously. What makes that even worse is that this office repeatedly listed my brain tumor in my medical records as MALIGNANT. We brought it to their attention more than once before it was finally corrected, and it was treated like it was no big deal. A malignant brain tumor is NOT a minor documentation error to the patient reading it. My tumor is located in the middle of my brain and has been described to me as inoperable. Imagine having a tumor like that and then repeatedly seeing “malignant” written in your medical records. Of course that is going to scare someone. I still want to know how something that serious was repeatedly documented incorrectly. On top of all of this, I cannot remember Yumi ever giving me an actual physical examination. I have brought numerous physical medical problems to her attention, and I cannot remember ONE time she actually examined me. My experience has basically been watching her hold and stare at a laptop while I explain what is happening to me. Maybe set the laptop down occasionally, actually examine your patient, ask questions, and make them feel like you care about what is happening to them. Today was my breaking point. Even after years of urinary problems, documentation from my urologist, procedures, and FOUR surgeries, the conversation once again came back to this somehow being “in my brain.” I told her she couldn’t simply pretend those previous conversations never happened. Her response was that she didn’t remember saying it. My wife and I immediately looked at each other because we BOTH remembered it. After one of those appointments, we literally sat in the car for approximately 20–30 minutes discussing what she had just said to me because we were both so shocked that my doctor had dismissed my symptoms that way. I am now requesting a different provider because I no longer have confidence in her handling my medical care. Based on my personal experience, I absolutely would NOT recommend this provider or this office to someone who has complicated medical problems and needs a doctor who will actually investigate what they are telling them instead of dismissing it. Please take your health seriously and advocate for yourself. I wish I had done it sooner. If I could leave negative stars based on my experience, I would.I changed “dispose yourself” because I’m pretty sure you meant “please don’t go to this office unless you want your concerns dismissed”—and that wording will make your review much clearer and harder for them to brush off.
