Dr. Yuri M. Kim, DO

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel that an experience I had with Dr. Kim's office needs to be shared. I was referred to Dr. Kim by my primary care physician about a year ago. I want to be as fair as possible in my review, and will say that I actually liked Dr. Kim. It is true that she moves quickly through appointments and could improve her bedside manner a bit, but she was thorough and answered all my questions. She caught a melanoma and was able to get me in quickly to have it successfully removed. I have been happy with her treatment this past year…. Until yesterday. On January 13, 2026 she did a biopsy on my cheek. I was informed by a staff member on January 28th that it was a form of cancer. I had questions about the 3 different treatment options the staff member presented to me, and wanted to get Dr Kim's opinion on the best course of treatment. I was told I needed to schedule an appointment for her to give me that information (which I think should automatically be… included when giving a patient biopsy results), but the staff member told me she would be happy to describe all treatment options in depth. I decided to have the cancer lesion scraped off by Dr. Kim, and made the appointment for mid-February. On February 12th I had a telehealth appointment with Dr Kim for an unrelated issue. At the end of that appointment Dr Kim told me she was aware of my upcoming appointment for her to scrape the cancer lesion, and wanted to recommend a MOS procedure instead. Because it was a more invasive procedure and on my face, she wanted to refer me to a plastic surgeon. She asked if this was okay with me, and then said she would send the referral right away. She informed me she would cancel the appointment I had previously made with her office for treatment. I contacted the plastic surgeon and scheduled the surgery for July 29th (the earliest appointment). There was NO additional contact from Dr Kim's office until June 23rd, when I called the office to schedule a body scan. I was scheduled for July 27, the earliest appointment available, but asked that my name be put on a waitlist for an earlier appointment should someone cancel. On June 29th, Dr Kim's office called while I was on vacation, and left a very kind message asking for an update on the cancer lesion. They asked if I could call back to let them know if I had had the lesion treated yet so they could update my chart (surgery already scheduled for July 29). I planned to call them back after we returned from the July 4th holiday. On the day of my return, I received a nasty letter from Dr Kim, dated July 3rd, stating that she was terminating our physician/patient relationship, and that she would “no longer serve as my physician. She would no longer provide medical care to me, and she would no longer prescribe or refill medications for me effective August 3rd. She would remain available until this date FOR EMERGENCY CARE ONLY“. The reasons cited were that “they had tried to contact me multiple times concerning my biopsy results” and “were unsuccessful in scheduling me for treatment”. I WAS SHOCKED!!! They have NOT tried to contact me multiple times, and I DID schedule my treatment with the plastic surgeon, as directed by Dr.Kim. I immediately looked through my call history and discovered there had ONLY been 2 calls from their office to me since January 27th (the day the biopsy results were shared). The ONLY other call that had ANYTHING to do with this procedure was on June 29th, and then this termination letter was issued 4 days later, July 3rd! My husband suggested that the letter may have been sent by mistake. I documented every phone call -incoming and outgoing, as well as every email correspondence. I drove over today to speak with the office manager to show them they had clearly made a mistake and get everything sorted out. I went in expecting an apology and a correction, but left frustrated and upset. They refused to even talk to me. They had zero inter

So I came into Dr. Yuri Kim cause I have HMO insurance and boy did I get lucky and pick a GREAT dermatologist, I have SUPER extra sensitive skin and even lidocaine numbing cream burns my skin easily. I had super overdried skin and just in bad shape, with red spots on my face. Made an appt started using her products especially her triple hydrating serum which literally I CANNOT live without.. After she fixed my skin I started doing botox and fillers with Dr. Kim and I refuse to get botox & fillers elsewhere (like a medi spa or friends that do that for a living) and yes its a tad pricier from a medi spa but I just cannot trust anyone else with my facial skin. And the products are UPSCALE products and I feel alot more comfortable that Dr Kim is Board Certified and knows exactly what can fix your skin and how much botox/fillers you need to feel and look amazing :-) Dr. Kim THANK YOU!! For making me feel beautiful and correcting my skin to what it should be :-) My husband is very… HAPPY TOO with my face results ever since I Have been going to Dr. Kim :-)

I went in to check on child-hood sun damage turned my face over to Dr. Yuri Kim for her to find a small freckle type of blemish turned out to be a Melanoma. She and her staff get a 12 for her attention to the details on my mug. Thank you!!!

Highly disappointed with my interactions with this doctor. She speeds through appointments, talks fast as though she is quickly trying to move on to the next patient, and has an energy as though she is both afraid of dermatological issues and people alike. The extent of her diagnosis and follow up was looking at the problem area from a 3 foot distance with her hands in her lap, and taking before and after pictures-- of which she did not take the time to look at with me to demonstrate that there was improvement. When I asked if we could look at the pictures together and have her show me how to gauge signs of improvement (it is not immediately visually apparent), Dr Kim became very defensive, agitated, and dismissive. It was a very off-putting interaction to have with a doctor. I had to ask her why she was speaking to me the way that she was, because it was so strange, combative, and unwarranted. After leaving Dr. Kim's office I neither feel at ease about the medical attention I… received (her quickly saying, 'this issue is SOOOO much better', when that's not apparent to the layperson’s eye. Everything felt quick, distanced, and slap dash. Perhaps a few extra moments of imparting her expertise, and telling me how to view things through her eyes would have resolved this issue—- but instead she dismissively said I was welcome to get a 2nd opinion... what? I never said I didn’t trust her— I was just asking for her to explain what I was seeing, and what I should expect to see in the future. This is not an abnormal request for a patient to ask to be informed about what the changes they are and can be expected to go through. Why is her first response to escalate such a simple query to that? Simply bizarre), nor the interpersonal doctor-patient interaction I received. I will absolutely look for different dermatological care in the future.

Dr. Kim rushes you through and is very dismissive of your concerns. Her policy to only discuss one issue per visit is very unprofessional and appears to be a total money grab. Hundreds of dollars spent for a visit that only lasted a few minutes. I had another virtual visit and it only lasted two minutes. Ended up with a serious infection after a treatment with her and had to go to an emergency room to have it corrected. Dr. Kim was too busy ? to see me. Never again.

Dr. Kim is very kind, thorough, and very detailed. Highly recommend.

Truly horrible experience. Rude, inattentive, aggressively vague about treatments. Seems to hate/be threatened by questions from patients. You’re a doctor, learn how to explain things.

This is the worst dermatology office I’ve been to. It’s very clear that the office is all about making money and has little to no concern about patient health and well-being. They have taken more than a week to respond to correspondence about something medical, but get in touch immediately about payment and needing to pay before a virtual appointment. I have a severe skin condition that is handled well with specialty medication. It took 2 months after an initial appointment, followed by ANOTHER appointment (meaning $$$ for the office) for the same concern for me to finally get information needed for medication. The staff in the office were extremely rude and somehow repeatedly (maybe intentionally) misunderstood the steps to handle the paperwork. I felt dismissed and gaslit by the staff members. I ended up having to call my insurance providers ~20 times to play telephone whenever the office staff encountered any small roadblock (that I often needed to check in about, otherwise they… would just drop it). There are lots of things I’m not allowed to fill out or have access to as a patient, but the office staff acted like the paperwork process was my responsibility when I was not allowed to have access to certain forms that needed to be filled out by the physician’s office. I’ve had 2 other dermatologists go through the exact same process which was done and approved within a week without work or follow-up needed from me (aside from one phone call with a clarifying question from the office, which does NOT require paying for a whole other visit). I wish I could have stayed with them but have been moving to different states for work over the past several years. It may be tempting to go to Clarity Dermatology because they can take appointments quickly, but you’ll end up wasting SO much more time and money in the long run, AND get treated poorly along the way.
