I am a relatively young person who had an unexpected stroke at 43. While in the hospital during my stroke recovery, I met Dr. Pride. He is an interventional cardiologist. He explained to me that I might have a hole in the center of my heart allowing "dirty" blood to pass to the side that sends blood out to the body through the arteries. It is called a PFO and it is a risk factor for stroke. Long story short, after receiving bum information from Piedmont, I went back to Dr. Pride, he closed my PFO and I have felt WONDERFUL since the procedure. I was a chronic migraine sufferer and this has essentially ended the migraine plague for me. I can't say enough about him and the care I received from him, the hospital and the group.

I received care from Dr. Yuri Pride and he diagnosed me with congestive heart failure. He has been very kind to me. He explained every thing to me about my condition. He takes the time to listen. He made me feel comfortable and has been a great doctor to me. He really listens and asks questions. If you need more information, he takes the time to explain things. I appreciate this doctor so much and all he did to help me. I was at death's door and he literally brought me back to life. He got me the treatment and medicines I needed and I understand my heart disease today and he gave me hope. I thought I was going to die and I would have but he slowly brought me back. My problem was from my thyroid. I am still battling that but my heart is better most days. I can walk again but not stairs much now. I can walk. Before I could hardly stand up let alone walk. I know this heart disease does not have the best outcomes but I am hopeful that I can live the rest of my life relatively healthy. At… first I could not walk and became short of breath just walking in front of myself. I can now walk a little further, though I have to use a walking cane because of the cigarette smoke coming into my apartment. If it were not for the smoke coming in then I would not need the cane. I hope to move soon and hopefully there will not be a chain smoker near me like now. Things are difficult but I appreciate Dr. Pride and how he worked with me to diagnose my problems and he gave me a positive outlook and how to manager my heart disease. I cannot run much anymore but at lease I am stilling walking and not in a wheelchair yet. I appreciate Dr. Pride very much.
