Dr. Yvonne Marie Datta, MD

Dr Datta had been my hematologist for more than 10 years. I have always found her to be open to my feelings about different treatments and patient in explaining her recommendations. I feel that we are partners in determining the right care options for me.

Dr. Datta is terrible! I have had many disagreements with her re: running tests of checking for Vit D levels, to medications , to infusions. She is not a good communicator nor does she seem to care about me as a patient. She is not a team member in my health care, but instead wants to dictate to me what I need and does not take my thoughts/feelings into consideration. She seems to cover up her lack of knowledge on specific health issues with arrogance and inflexibility. I have tried to changes doctors twice, but each one was not accepting new patients. I have to do something soon though because my health depends on it and she doesn't care nor have the knowledge needed to assist in providing me adequate care for my disease.

Her years of experience shows in the additional experts she can bring in for second opinions or additional treatment. She is pretty busy at times and it shows in the amount of time spent and the thoroughness of the examination. She is very personable and remembers her patients.

i find the dr to be unprofessional and not really interested in the problems related to cancer,chemo and the recultant psychological problems.she is evasive when asked for definite opinions--more lawyerlike in her responses,and definitely segmented in her responses to preoples "problems"frankly,she should be confined to a research lab,and not interface with patients because she clearly has no empathy for them.when i was younger,i used to insist that in order to become a dr.,one had to pass an exasm in loss of humanityshe obviopusly would have passed that course with flying colors. find me another oncologi9st while i report her to her superiors.
