Dr. Yvonne Yeewan Kwan, MD

My wife and I have been with Dr kwan for quite a few years now since before she moved to Hawaii kai branch. When she informed us that she was moving far from my residence. She asked if we wanted to transfer to another doctor closer to home. We liked her enough to put up with the H1 commute. She does get behind but I accept that as being thorough and focused on the patient she's with. I appreciate it when it's our turn. She's always pleasant and energetic she cuts to the quick and asks the right questions to get to the crux of an issue. Where she burns minutes is in the detailed explanation of an issue. Again, acceptable to us, as I need to know in detail what's going on. We're glad we have her as our PCP. Btw when I go to see a doctor any doctor its not a social visit. If they smile and say hi that's more then I expect.. In that regard she is above expectations ,with a smile and a handshake at each greet. The staff is also very friendly and do their best to insure all bases are… covered for your visit. Planning to stick with her as long as my insurance days I can.

Poor listener.

She rushed me through the appointment and laughed at me when I described my health symptom. She needs communication training and more empathy towards patients.

I've been seeing Dr. Kwan in Hawaii Kai for several years now and absolutely love her! I have never felt rushed and she has always taken the time to explain everything thoroughly. She's very personable and has always made me feel comfortable during and after every visit.

The Dr. Y. Kwan, I know work for Struab Clinic in Hawaii Kai, 2015. The Doctor is rude, rushes thru appointment, and does not listen to her patients. This is my opinion from my experience with her. I would NOT recommend Dr. Kwan.

I really liked her. She seemed genuinely interested, listened and discussed options. She called me twice to follow up and wanted to know if I was concerned about anything, as she sensed I was. I think she runs late because she doesn`t rush you in and out. I appreciate that and am fine with waiting for her.
