Excellent Doctor!

Dr B has been my doc for 25 years. He is so thorough and patient. Takes the time to ask every question and listens to everything I say. He is what every physician should aspire to be. I say this. Having seen many docs as a type 1 diabetic.

Dr. Bloomgarden is a truly excellent Doctor. His knowledge ,experience, thoughtfulness and concern for his patients is very reassuring.

I've seen Dr. Bloomgarden twice... my initial visit and, nine months later, when he fit me in because of an alarming blood test result at another doctor's office. Dr. B assured me that the result was unlikely and was probably a lab error. He called me that evening to tell me that everything was fine. I know he's a highly regarded expert in his feel, and I also know that he's a very thorough and thoughtful practitioner. I have complete confidence in him.

His office staff is rude and nasty. He is constantly on his computer while you are with him, writing down instead of paying attention to you. I had a biopsy with problems and he never bothered to follow up! His nutritionist is mediocre at best. His nurse is the only good one in the place. The woman who schedules his appointments is a nightmare to deal with. She is a big reason I left his practice as well as his disinterest, and lack of follow up on a serious problem I had. I am now with a brilliant, warm, compassionate doctor whose staff is a delight to deal with. What a difference and what a relief!

I've been a patient of Dr. Bloomgarden since 1988. While I originally came to him to coordinate treatment of my arthritis, Dr. Bloomgarden's been my primary physician since that day.Why? Because he listens. He asks questions. He asks follow-up questions. He's willing to hear you out. He explains why your symptoms (or conditions, diagnosis, pain, etc.) are the way they are. And then he listens more.Dr. Bloomgarden has also taken on as a patient, on an emergency basis and at my request, one of my two (now) adult daughters when she had a problem that needed immediate attention. For that alone, I am very grateful.Now does all this sound like a physician that you care to see? If so, you're like me. If not, good luck.

He and his staff work as a team-nurse-doctor-nutritionist-which is very important for diabetics. Hands on with insulin pump. My A1C improved when seeing this doctor

Whatever you do, do not go to him. The only thing that made me give him a 1 on the rating is that I can't tell yet what his skills as a doctor are. However, he and his office staff are honestly the rudest people I have ever met. In person and over the phone, they have such attitude and disrespect for their patients. They do not care at all about you and are completely inconsiderate. The doctor tries to escape from seeing you/talking to you as fast as possible and you have to pull him back. They are not helpful in answering questions. Everything seems like they are dragging their feet and doing the least possible for you.
