Dr. Zaheer Aslam completed Residency Training in Psychiatry in 2000 and Fellowship in 2001 in Addiction Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Dr. Aslam started his career as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota school of Medicine and as a Staff Psychiatrist at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Aslam has been in private practice since 2007. Dr. Aslam’s career has been varied with him providing a variety of professional level services clinically, administratively, educationally and in research.
Dr. Aslam was instrumental in establishing …rural psychiatric services in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Florida through his work with and in Telepsychiatry (studies have shown that patient satisfaction rate and treatment outcomes are the same when video session is compared with face to face interaction).
Dr. Aslam has been involved in evaluating and treating patients through telepsychiatry since 2001. Dr. Aslam designed and implemented substance dependence evaluations on Veterans who could not access services nearby, and nursing homes located in medically underserved areas.
In addition to overseeing Advanced Psychiatric Care, Dr. Aslam is currently the Director of a Co-Occurring in-patient program at a psychiatric hospital located in Fort Myers, Florida. TMS and Spravato (esketamine) treatments are provided by TMS and Ketamine Clinic of SW Florida at 6700 Winkler Road, Suite 8, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Patients are referred from our office for an initial evaluation and scheduling. TMS is an outpatient, noninvasive series of short daily sessions (usually M–F for several weeks) using magnetic pulses while the patient is seated. Spravato is given as a supervised intranasal dose with about a two‑hour observation period (including vitals and mental-status checks) and requires a responsible adult to drive the patient home. We can help coordinate the referral and any pre-visit instructions.
