Dr. Zainab J Sher, MD

Unfortunately, I’ve been consistently dissatisfied with the quality of care and communication I’ve received. From the start, I’ve felt that she doesn’t truly listen during appointments. For example, I told her at the beginning of a visit that I take a probiotic daily. Toward the end of that same visit, she recommended that I start taking a probiotic clearly showing she hadn’t been listening. On another occasion, I described pain in a very specific area of my body, and she ordered an X-ray for the opposite side. I had to go back, have the order corrected, and wait again before returning to radiology. She was also supposed to send a neurology referral but instead referred me to a spine specialist. I had to contact her office again just to get the proper referral sent out. This level of follow through is frustrating, especially when I’m already dealing with health issues. There have been multiple breakdowns in communication and care. She failed to order blood work she herself had… recommended, and when I arrived at the lab, nothing had been submitted. I had to follow up with her office again to get it sorted. Her bedside manner is dismissive and, frankly, rude. She talks over me during visits, doesn’t take the time to listen, and at one appointment even asked me twice if I did drugs despite having already told her that I don’t smoke, don’t use drugs, and only drink occasionally. I found that both unnecessary and offensive. Overall, I’ve been incredibly disappointed with the care I’ve received. I’m currently looking for another primary care physician who will treat me with respect, listen to my concerns, and follow through on what they say they will do. I do not recommend this doctor based on my experience.

Wow, she is absolutely unbelievable. She incorrectly billed a normally $30 visit as $500!!! AND she refused to help. This is ridiculous.

Mrs. Sher treated me with respect and understanding unlike that which I have felt with my previous doctors. I was thoroughly happy with her care and wish for her to achieve great things in life.

I've been seeing Dr. Sher for one year since my primary care provider of 20 years retired. I was nervous initially going to a new doctor that I knew nothing about, but I've been very pleased to have found Dr. Sher, she is very sharp, knowledgeable, and has a pleasant personality. I felt listened to and I was impressed with her medical knowledge regarding my health disorders.

Why can't all doctors just be like this? Approachable, understandable to the layman, pleasant, knowledgable and kind.
