Dr. Zandra Renee Petway, MD

I have had this doctor assigned to me twice and is highly disappointing. She doesn't do shots or physicals for children. I was told by her receptionist to go to the health department for that for my 3 small children. What is the point of having a pcp who does very little as a pcp? I was not weighed on my last visit, being diabetic weight is important, I am not overweight but gain or loss is vital to know in some cases. I had blood drawn but my endocrinologist's office could not get her staff to fax everything they needed for my lab results. They had to redo my labs. I was not diagnosed a diabetic by her as written in paperwork. I went into onset at 10 years old, 25 years ago in Alabama. She wrote a prescription for an old insulin that had to be special ordered. All her prescriptions were so basic and confusing to Walgreens that it took two weeks for her to straighten it out because she was on vacation and I had to go to the health department to get the same junk insulin. Not all… insulin is the same. She only wrote a prescription for one bottle a month and I use two being a type 1. she also only wrote for 50 test strips a month when I test 6 times a day on good days and more if sick.

I think Dr. Petway is a wonderful doctor and I beg to differ from all of the negative comments below. Her office staff is very professional and I love going there for my medical treatment. I have been going to Dr. Petway for over 10 years and I put all of my trust in her. The negative comments below where probably written by irate drug seekers who didn't get the Lortab or Xanax that wanted so they're venting their frustrations on the internet.

I am absolutely amazed at the lack of competence demonstrated by the front desk staff. Not only are they rude and uneducated, they simply will not respond to issues around test results, billing, or even communicate accurate times that the appropriate staff will be in the location you are in. I had bloodwork done and called in for over 4 weeks trying to get results. I was told they are not in, I forgot, you will need to talk to someone that is not here, we can't sent those directly to your doctor, you will have to drive to our Williamson county location to pick them up. I disputed the service obviously and no one would give me access to her. I turned her into the better business bureau and they reached out to her on multiple occasions, no response..... I had to pay the bill to dodge the hit on my credit. I would dodge her office at all costs. You are better off taking a vitamin and crossing your fingers.
