Zane N Bartlett, DO

By the end of high school, Zane N. Bartlett, DO, decided to use his interest in biology to help people navigate their
most personal and physical challenges. “I chose to become a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine because I value the
philosophy of treating the whole person (mind, body, and spirit), which encompasses a person’s whole life story
rather than just a set of symptoms,” he says.

Dr. Barlett earned his Master of Science in Biology at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ. He graduated from
Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM, with his Doctor of
Osteopathic Medicine degree. His residency training was completed at Indiana University School of Medicine
Psychiatry Residency, Vincennes, IN.

“I chose psychiatry because it allows me to address the core challenges that shape our daily experiences, where
thoughts, emotions, and behaviors all intersect with our physical reality,” he says.

He approaches his practice with a philosophy rooted in …education, partnership and a deep respect for each person
he guides and supports. In particular, he enjoys working with young adults and veterans, and anyone navigating
the complexities of ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and depression that hasn't responded to traditional treatments.

In his own words…

Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life? While my corgi provides the best lessons in unconditional love, my grandparents are my human exemplars who instilled in me a lifelong curiosity about the world and people around me.

What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? I worked as a cashier in my high school cafeteria. Coming from a large family, I learned the value of a hard day's work at an early age.

What is your favorite food? Movie? What was your best/worst subjects in school? Food: Lowcountry boil, with French toast a close second. Movie: Groundhog Day. Best subject: Biology. Most challenging: Calculus

If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? David Attenborough. His documentaries have provided me with endless wonder and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? I’m an avid hiker, fisherman, reader, musician and gamer who loves spending time with friends and family. To decompress, I enjoy writing music lyrics, watching science and animal videos online, or spending time with my church community.

What is something most people don’t know about you? During my youth, I participated extensively in 4-H, where I spent several years showing sheep, guinea pigs and rabbits.
