Dr. Zane Arthur Brown, MD

Dr. Zane Brown is an extremely compassionate caring doctor. My first pregnancy was a nightmare, 9.6 lb baby boy born 1 mo early, stuck in the birthing canal and way too big for me to deliver. I was 20 and didn't want to endure delivery ever again. My older sister referred me to the UW hospital, I was lucky getting Dr. Brown. After reviewing my charts and measuring me, he said I will help you control the diabetes, diet and exercise and we will NOT let your baby get too big, 7 lbs is as big as you can deliver. So with diligence on both our parts, I followed his orders. I lived in Alaska and flew back and forth sometimes twice a week for my hospital visits via float planes and Alaska Airlines. He helped me through each high risk issues I faced, reassuring me every step of the way. When it was time to deliver, I had a 7.0 lb baby girl. My diabetes did not go away between pregnancies, he helped with with all aspects of my care, even after I was done being pregnant. He was also… doing several research studies that I also helped with. I could NOT ask for a better doctor, his bedside manner is genuine and compassionate. 7 yrs later, I came back to his office, Dr. Brown, immediately remembered me by name and all my history, when seeing me in the hall. I was there for my 3rd pregnancy, he again reassured me 7 lb baby, if I followed his orders, once again, 7 lbs .5 oz, baby girl. 20 yrs later, I brought my youngest daughter to UW, she got to meet him, he remembered me yet again. It has always been so nice to have a doctor to truly care about their patients. My youngest daughter delivered her baby girl Dec 2015, at UW. We love Dr. Brown and his staff. Couldn't be happier.

Dr. Zane Brown talked down to me the few minutes that he graced me with his presence. He reminded me of Bella Lugosi, with a very archaic attitude toward women, and it felt like he was able to suck the positive outlook and any trace of joy out of the room with one icy glare.
