Zheala Qayyum, MD, MMSC

Dr. Zheala Qayyum is an attending psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Boston Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She serves as Medical Director of the Emergency Psychiatry Service and Training Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Dr. Qayyum is board certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and consultation-liaison psychiatry. Her clinical and academic work focuses on improving access to acute psychiatric care for children and adolescents, as well as advancing medical education. She earned her medical degree from King Edward Medical University, completed her residency at the University of Connecticut, and pursued fellowship training at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital. She also holds a master’s degree in medical education from Harvard Medical School.
