Dr. Zheru Liu, MD

I grew up in Beijing, China. After graduating from medical school, I came to the US to pursue my graduate studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Biomedical research was fascinating, but I wanted to devote myself to work more related to human diseases. Therefore, upon obtaining my Ph.D. degree, I went for pathology training at University of Wisconsin, Madison.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in the year 2000 and have been working with a talented and dedicated group of pathologists. I believe in the integrated delivery system here and enjoy the collegial relationship with clinicians in other departments.


About my practice

There are 16 pathologists and five PhDs in our department. We strive to cover a variety of services related to surgical pathology and laboratory medicine. It's a highly functional and productive group.How I thrive

I spend my off-work time with my family. We like to travel, go to concerts and do outdoor activities such as biking, hiking and skiing. I believe …that in order to be a good physician, one needs to be well balanced physically and emotionally. Between juggling my family and career, I try to find time to nurture myself with music, yoga, reading and friends.
