Dr. Zia Ul Hassan, MD

Dr. Hassoun along with nursing and office staff have consistently been thorough, professional, compassionate, and listened well to my care needs, concerns, and personal knowledge of my own medical historical base. He was a referral by a specialist and I can understand why.

I am somewhat amazed at the negative reports given by other reviewers here. Dr. Hassan has been our family GP for 4 years since we arrived in Huntsville. I had a brief and very negative experience with a different MD in town and switched to Dr. Hassan who was seeing my wife on a recommendation from a coworker. Generally we are pretty healthy so we don't have many issues, but recently I was mistreated and misprescribed by a specialist in town and Dr. Hassan has been undoing all the mischief caused by the specialist. I trust that I am getting effective care now.

I have never been treated so poorly by a supposed medical professional. The man was rude and totally out of line with some remarks. I gave him 1 star because the system would not let me enter a zero. His staff, on the other hand, was professional and caring but he was a total a$$.

It appears that he is over-medicating older patients without considering other medicines (including psychiatric medicines) that they may be taking that may complicate, interfere, or exacerbate side effects. I visited my mom recently and she was bombed out of her mind...and I found that he’d added a new medication that increased the sedation effect of her psychiatric meds by 10x. That’s a problem and I am unhappy based on my perception of his prescribing practices.
