Dr. Zijad Sabovic, MD

Dr Sabovic treated me when I had severe lyme disease (for the second time in 10 years). He did an excellent job, I wish I had known him the first time I got infected. He is very professional, attentive, courteous. I trust him completely and Im glad to recommend him highly.

Dr Sabovic gives his patients his undivided attention and care. He is brilliant, compassionate and patient as he scientifically analyzes symptoms to get to the root cause of a patient’s illness. He then carefully assigns a personalized treatment plan that is monitored and adjusted as necessary. Dr Sabovic is a true doctor and one that should be modeled by other practitioners.

I battled Lyme for 18 months now, after first being misdiagnosed with MSA-C (a fatal disease). Dr. Sabovic, immediately suspected Lyme, as every symptom checked the box, the only thing that conventional medicine saw besides all the other boxes checked, was the negative hospital Lyme test, a very common result). Sure enough, with a IGENIX test, I had 3 types of Lyme. (Basically could barely walk, couldn't talk well, and had tremors when I went and saw him, now I am at 85% and still on 3 week iv, but i can talk, have few tremors, and can walk (but not very good). I cant say enough about his capabilities with Lyme, as I would not be here today if it wasn't for him. Total 5 stars. My issue is with the medical industry, and how they do not take Lyme seriously. Its expensive to treat, and insurance will only cover a month, or maybe two, if you challenge it. The medicine is expensive, and it could take a very long time to treat. Those without the means cannot do what they need to… fight this, and there are tens a thousand of people. This needs to change, there should be no controversy on this, its real. Do yourself a favor, see Dr. Sabovic, if you think you need a second opinion, it could save your life also.

Three years ago I walked into Dr. Sabovic’s office near death. My brain was inflamed, I slurred my words, I could not speak in complete sentences, I could not walk a straight line without falling, and I could not write my own name. I was only a week or two away from death. Today, thanks to Dr. Sabovic, I have my life back and my health back, and save for some residual issues, I am about 90% better. I was able to return to work after being housebound and bed bound for several years. It has been a very difficult journey, having to deal with multiple infections as well as mycotoxin illness. Dr. Sabovic was literally my last hope, having been treated like garbage by dozens of other doctors. He is the only doctor who instantly realized how very sick I was, and that my body was beginning to shut down. At my first appointment he said that I belonged in the hospital, and that I had been seriously neglected by the medical community. I owe him my life.

I was told that the lyme testing he does was going to be $250 so I gave them my credit card info and off it went to Igenex. I got my credit card statement and got charged $730!! When I called the office, they said they 'overlooked' the additional charges for the lyme testing and forgot to tell me about it. Admitted it was their mistake. Then I was told because of their error, they would not charge me for the follow up visit. The day of my follow up, they called me to tell me that they changed their mind and I was going to be charged for the visit. Needless to say i cancelled that visit. Such a shame that I was put in the middle of all this and because of the extra charges I am not able to afford the follow up to discuss my results or get any advice needed. Unfortunately, Dr. Sabovic or his receptionist did not seem to care that the error was on their part and I was the one who suffered for it.

My intentions on seeing Dr Sabovic were initially for Lymes, which I am currently being treated for and am feeling better, but he found a growth on my thyroid that no other Dr has been able to locate. It is not small and I am having surgery to remove half as it may be cancerous. The 3 Drs. that haven't been able to find the growth have commented on what a great Dr he is!

My daughter is a patient of his and he has a life saver. He is caring and very knowledgeable on Lyme disease. Highly recommend him

Best Lyme Disease doctor there is. He spends tons of time and looks at you as a whole person. I am so impressed. He is up on all the research and treats people with amazing blend of western and natural medicine.
