Dr. Zita K Baker

Dr. Zita Baker always knew what she wanted to do- even in sixth grade she was writing essays about pursuing a career in dentistry.  She first earned her degree as a dental hygienist from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery of the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She practiced as a hygienist for five years, then went back to dental school, receiving her D.D.S. from Howard University College of Dentistry.
After graduating, Dr. Baker did a two year externship (residency) at the North Carolina Department of Rural Health, where she worked with migrant farmers.  She opened her private practice in 2006. 
Dr. Baker has continued her education with training from the Bicon Institute for Dental Implants. She is also enrolled in the curriculum at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. She is a member of the National Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the North Carolina Dental Society.  She volunteers doing dental work …for migrant farmers and participates in the Give Kids a Smile Program each year.
Dr. Baker’s family is from Hillsboro, and she is delighted to be back in North Carolina with her own dental practice.
