Dr. Zofia Wanda Drzymalski, MD

Woke up today having wet my pants (and likely, the bed). This still happens and doesn't make for a fun life. I still have minor vision problems and terrible migraines that affect my upper jaw from time to time which started around the time I lost control of my bladder. However, I am certain that it still says in my medical record that these are all figments of my attention-seeking, drama queen (i.e. female) imagination. Shame on you, doctor D. I would have been better off not having seen a doc for this, because I would have the same medical issues and no notes in my record for other physicians to doubt my word. Yet, you still received hundreds of dollars out of pocket from me and more when I had to go on Medicaid and they covered the rest. Dr Drzymalski, you are useless and I resent the day I chose you for my PCP. I hoped you have learned to be more humble in your old age.

This witch strikes again. My ruined medical reputation continues to follow me as I had likely been exposed to Corona and even though I had been febrile early in the illness, had a dry cough for 9 days, it hurt my chest to breathe, etc...I was blatantly refused testing by my new doctor twice. I was coughing up a lung and he was so mean to me. I have been accused of making up illnesses ever since I started leaking urine 5 years ago from Capitalcare's negligence, and not only do I still leak urine, I was also accused of causing my own high adrenal androgens, making up blurred vision (which I have had for a year and a half now), migraines (which started about 9 months ago)...I could go on. It is so scary and frustrating to me now that I have concerning issues and no medical professional will take me seriously. Doctors should really think twice when they are frustrated with themselves and their patients and write cruel, angry notes in electronic medical records which will follow and affect… their patients for a long period of time. Shame on you, old Dr. Drzymalski! Retire before you hurt someone else! You have been one of the most damaging human beings I have ever been in contact with. Who cares if you make nice during a useless routine visit when you can't come through when it REALLY matters!

Still struggling with incontinence issues. It is a daily burden, with watching what I eat, how I sit, how much water I drink, how long I sit, how I urinate, doing exercises, home PT, expensive office PT, etc. I feel dirty and messy all of the time, and it is hard. There are no easy solutions to this. I still don't understand how after the tingling sensations, the stiffness in my back, the sciatica, and then the sudden loss of continence and incessant bowel movements during the time I first fell ill, that Dr. Drzymalski and her staff didn't take my concerns seriously, discouraged me from seeing an Infectious Disease doc, told me that I could wait things out...Even with the severe migraines I had soon after. It was a scary, lonely time, and my vision and hearing still isn't right. I go to doctors and try to explain these things, and I know they don't believe me. I have PCOS as well, and every time I see an endo for this and I tell them I am nervous about taking the commonly prescribed… diuretic for it with my incontinence, they don't believe that I have it. They think it is in my head, as D had written in my record. As the notes she had sent around to others in my care team had said. I fear going to the doctor now, and I fear that if something severe happens to me again, no one will believe me...This stigma will follow me forever, along with the problem of the incontinence. Not only that, I don't even have a PCP that I trust. If D's personality or her office's lack of organization isn't enough to deter you, the fact that they are located in Sch'dy and send patients to Sch'dy docs if at all possible is another issue. In my experience, I have learned that Sch'dy docs invariably don't seem to keep up on current medical knowledge and don't have the tech in their offices that Albany docs have. Once you wait for an appt, and go to the appt to find out they don't know their stuff, you have to struggle to get your records and make your own appt somewhere else (D's office won't do it), wait to be approved, wait for the appt...This had been a real impediment to my getting proper care. I hope that in recent years, things have changed some. What a fiasco this has all been, and I can't say that I am a better person for it.

Dr. Drzymalski is a wonderful doctor. She listens with compassion, is thorough in her treatment and does everything she can to address any questions and issues I have during my visits. I never feel rushed during appointments and she shows genuine concern for my health and well being. On top of all that, she is also very sweet, and is always in a good mood. The office is also well run. I have had nothing but good experiences with lab work, appointments, paperwork, billing, getting call backs, etc. I've been going there for years, and everyone there has always been professional and caring towards me.

Unfortunately, the incontinence that was caused by the negligence of this office persists. It is much better, but a condition that I will have to manage for the rest of my life...and it was completely preventable. I recently went to see a researcher at AMC about a rare chronic health condition I have, and he mentioned this doctor's mean spirited note about my mental health from the time of this incident. Lady, because of you, I will have urinary accidents, and possibly bowel accidents, for the rest of my life. Your staff laughed at me while they texted on their phones, watching me run to the bathroom multiple times while waiting for my appointment with you. This is after the front desk staff commented on my unattractive face. Gee, I wonder why your patient is anxious when she comes to see you. Arrogant idiot you are, Zophie. Now, this researcher says he wants me evaluated before he educates me on his research. Basically, I'm being railroaded and now I probably cannot see any doctor… in that system any longer, as this retaliatory note is still following me everywhere. Some docs I have seen didn't even believe that I had incontinence because of you and I was literally walking around in wet diapers for longer than I want to admit. Another interesting incident was when I saw a rheumy and he asked me why my PCP didn't do any further testing on me or refer me anywhere when I had so many severe symptoms following this tick bite incident. Well, I asked her the same, but her plan of action was to dismiss me...with said note on my mental health which no doctor ever seems to forget. This doctor's negligence, her treatment of me during this time, and the note that follows me everywhere has done more physical, financial, and psychological damage to my life than anything I've every experienced. Most of what I speak about in therapy visits revolves around this incident and its fallout. Thanks for nothing, Zoph.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr Drzmalski for several years and value her very much as our physician. She is very thoughtful and concerned for her patients. Also very through in her exams and assessment of our concerns.

I am the one who wrote that Drzymalski was irresponsible and arrogant. I stand by that, and I am still severely incontinent from falling through the cracks of the administrative nightmare that is her office. She was my primary care physician for 16 years before she dismissed me (in 2015) and was referred to me by my pediatrician. When I first met her, she yelled at my mother, causing my mother to decide to choose another primary care physician for herself. I should have seen her for what she was at that time, but I was too young. I will say that in the 16 years of being a patient of Dr. Drzymalski's at Capitalcare, I don't recall ever having trouble getting an appointment with her, unless she was on vacation or I didn't want to wait a day or two to see her or leave work at certain times. So I doubt the review below has been written by anyone other than someone in administration at Capitalcare trying to improve their organization's suffering PR. Then again, I am not one to abuse the… primary care system by showing up with a head cold or hay fever, as many do. The one time I actually needed Dr. D., she did not help me. This is after she had a discussion with me years back about how the human resource department where I was working was trying to undermine my credibility after witnessing inappropriate behavior there. That some in my position had sued for things like this and she advised against it. Yet, in a cruel twist of fate, years later I was neglected by her and her own staff and she did the very same thing to me as those in my office had done. The very same thing she explained to me they were doing. Drzymalski is at the bottom of the barrel as far as ethics are concerned. Yes, she is thorough...so thorough that when she knows her office and her staff have made mistakes, she knows just what to add and subtract from a patient's record and referral notes to reflect more positively on her office and organization and to hurt her own patient.

Dr. Drzymalski has been my primary MD for many years. She is just wonderful. Her clinical skills are excellent, I know that I am always in the best hands. She is professional, kind and compassionate. Just can't say enough about her! The only drawback is that it is difficult to get an appointment with this MD for a sick visit, but I am always able to get in with another provider. I see Dr. Drzymalski for Physical Exams.

I love Dr Sophie, she is thorough and caring.

I developed a Lyme Disease rash over the summer and went to the office managed by Dr. D. right away. Even though I told them I was already experiencing neurological symptoms for a couple of months, they assured me that I could wait for a positive test result to treat. Even after keeping in touch with me throughout the week while I was waiting, as I told them how the disease was rapidly progressing and I was developing joint pain and stiffness. After all was said and done, things had disseminated so much I ended up with permanent hearing loss and severe incontinence. Weeks of debilitating migraines so bad that I called 911...Dr. Drzymalski would not speak to me about my symptoms. She said they were from anxiety and an unclean home. Dr. Drzmalski yelled at me as I spoke to her about this as if it were my fault. She tried to tell me I was being dramatic and needed to be treated for anxiety. Four months later, I still cannot eat or drink without wetting myself...even with a diaper. I can't… go in the car. I can't sit or lie down. I urinate myself constantly all day and night. I can't work. At the time, I had to beg the doctor to give me a referral to a urologist. After over a week, they finally called someone...and only because I went to administration at CapitalCare. Then I had to wait even longer for an appointment. The doctor I saw was so incompetent and unprofessional...he knew nothing about Lyme and the common bladder problems it causes, told me straight away that he could give me every med and treatment and none of them may work, and that the med he wanted to give me was several hundred dollars a month...even with insurance...and I could not afford it. It also causes massive hair loss and other side effects. He told me to see an ID doctor, but I said Dr. D. wouldn't allow it. Another drug I was advised to take by others in my situation (the only thing that worked for them) is strongly linked to dementia...which runs in my family. The uro also made fun of me for not smiling to the next patient while I was in earshot. I was so depressed, I wanted to commit suicide. I made a follow up call to Dr. D. (as she asked me to do) and she got angry and told her nurse to tell me she couldn't do anything for me and to stop calling. I told them that the uro told me to see an ID doc and Dr. D would not refer me. I told them I wanted to see another uro who might know more, and they wouldn't refer me. I made my own appointment and begged them for three weeks to send my notes to them. It was November, and I couldn't get an appointment until mid March. I begged and begged, and finally got one in early December...but I had to work for it...on my own. Drzymalski dismissed me from the practice, and called me that day...screaming and yelling like a psychopath. Telling me I was complaining too much. I was suffering so much and she treated me like garbage. Her own PA says that she is above calling patients back, won't discipline staff for not taking messages, won't do anything about faulty computer problems that prevented practitioners from getting messages even when they were taken...The office kept calling me back at the wrong phone number and I didn't know if they were doing it on purpose or if there were some other problem, but I was advised it was both. I have so many issues with this office, I am too tired to name them all. What I can tell you is that I am disabled for life and I blame their incompetence and disorganization. Drzymalski should not be managing that practice anymore.
