Dr. Zohreh Mahdavi, MD

Dr Mahdavi has been my neurologist for 15 years. When I started with her I had debilitating migraines. Her treatment plan has really changed my life. Migraines are now rare for me. She is attentive, easy to reach, and has a wonderful team. I highly recommend her.

Yesterday afternoon was my first appointment with Dr. Mahdavi. My problems are chronic and debilitating which I’ve suffered with for nearly two decades. There is significant damage to my cervical spine, in addition to impaired cognition including memory and balance problems with progressive motor skill deterioration. The clinical evaluation was very thorough and concise. Dr. Mahdavi scheduled the appropriate diagnostic testing to further determine the underlying cause of my debilitating condition and cognitive deficits. Dr. Mahdavi attended me when I had a stroke in 2005 and again when I was preparing for spine surgery in 2010. Each time I encountered her she was professional, courteous, very informative including taking time to explain those things I did not understand, included my spouse in the conversations, and remembered my name. We are glad to have her as my neurologist.

I had an EMG conducted and the technician was very good. Dr. Mahdavi met with me briefly after. It was very apparent that I was an inconvenience because she stepped into the room and stood by the door with her purse on her shoulder while she quickly read through the report. If I hadnt been adament to ask questions we would of never realized that I needed some additional testing . She quickly got me back with the technician to have this completed. This would of resulted in myself having to pay for another appt because the orders were not thorough. So.. I started to look at reviews to see if others have had this experience. it appears that this is the case. I will be sure that my referring doctor is well aware of this.

Dr. Madavi is a thoroughly professional doctor, however to me I do not feel that she is "on my side". I do not feel that she really wants to question previous doctors diagnosis & is unwilling to question or go a different way. Perhaps it was her training, however I need more than breezing in & out. I need to be talked to. Chronic illnesses that you are only able to control & not cure require that,in my opinion. Her staff is great & will talk to you, however I need that from the doctor more.
