Dr. Zorayda E Pretto, MD

She made an impression of a thorough (good!) and conservative (in good and bad sense) doctor, but very unyielding and arrogant. In my case she very quickly developed an opinion and stuck to it no matter what. Fortunately, I checked with other doctors about my condition. It turned out that Dr. Pretto's diagnosis was incorrect and proposed treatment was totally wrong; it would make me only worse.

I was referred to Dr. Pretto from my primary physician for hypothyroidism that had been under control for years using Armour Thyroid but suddenly I felt awful. She insisted I switch to Synthroid. She told me to taper the Armour and begin the Synthroid. She called in the script but left no instruction as to how to taper or what final dose would be when I was finally only on Synthroid. I called and called and kept getting people to take messages but she took forever to return my call. I find her to be unyielding in her opinions regardless of symptoms or patient provided information.

Lovely caring manner. Returns phone calls.Doesn't treat you like a number.

It is shame to know how the modern medicine works. Patient is a client and focus is on keep moving the stock to make the most money. A common practice is to over book and then rush the patients with out addressing the complete problem. Missing human approach.
