Dr. Zubair Ahmed Shaikh, MD

Here in Central Michigan his practice is referred to as “The Dr Sheik S**t Show”. Run for your life- unless being misdiagnosed and disrespected is your jam.

Had a decent experience with his nurse practitioner, but there’s no follow through with anything. She did a decent explanation of testing but that was it. No suggestions. Every time I’ve been there the waiting time has been huge even if you have the first appointment of the day. Not even to see the doctor, but for testing. For example I am now waiting for a ‘first appointment of the day’ EEG and it’s two hours later. However God forbid you are ever a minute late! This interaction will be the last with his office. I would rather travel to Midland or Lansing. The problem is it’s hard to find a neurologist taking patients, but fortunately another family member sees one so I can get in. I just feel sorry for the people with serious neurologic deficits and their families.

This term will forever ring in my ears. 2 visits found nothing. 2nd visit Dr. said he thought it was a Red Herring. My husband was not imagining anything. He was in pain. Cancer being the cause. He is now gone. 5 yrs ago with 1st visit if Dr. Would have requested CT or MRI and not thinking if he does not find anything must be nothing my husband may still be here.

Had an appt with Kristin 2 weeks ago and she said they would set up an MRI with contrast of my brain, still haven't heard from the office and I'm still having the headaches, tried to call but I guess they're closed on Fridays. They've never been very helpful or on task for me in the past either. Disappointed.

Because of their incompetence and several mid-diagnosises I lost 2 years of disability back pay. Everyone in the Alma office is RUDE! If I could give zero stars I would. They mis-diagnosed Primary Progressive MS with Fibromyalgia for 2 years. I would rather die on the street than ever be seen by any of these monkeys in lab coats again!

Horrible wait time. Over an hour to be seen by the Dr., Then for the fourth time I did not get the test I was scheduled to get. His staff need some serious people skills...they are extremely rude in the Mt. Pleasant office!

I did something I NEVER usually do...I read reviews prior to the visit.????? I saw Dr. Shaikh at the Mount Pleasant office and because of the reviews, I was full of anxiety. I thought for sure, it would be a terrible experience. As it turns out, it wasn’t! The office staff was wonderful and he was thorough, polite and just as wonderful. Even though I have had a diagnosis for years, he is rechecking everything. I am so pleased so far! I will however, go back to not reading reviews.

My husband is a stroke victim (50 yrs. old at the time) and Dr. Shaikh has been his neurologist from the beginning (it's been 3 years now). We are always happy with the care Dr. Shaikh gives to us. He is logical and down to earth. He is easy to talk to and always takes his time so we feel that our questions are being answered well.

I had gone to this Dr. and his PA for over 3 years - never found out what was wrong - yet I saw another Neurologist and they new what I had within 2 visits.

My husband is suffering greatly with Parkinson's symptoms, and his PCP, for reasons unbeknownst to us, referred him to Dr Sheikh. We drove to Alma and his appt was at 11. We didn't see him until almost noon, my husband in obvious distress in the waiting room. He asked a few questions, interrupted me when I tried to answer, asked him to squeeze his finger, and said it wasn't Parkinson's. He has like 49 symptoms out of 50, but from squeezing his finger knew it wasn't that. On top of that, he offered no explanation for coming to that conclusion, but instead told us he had other patients waiting.
