My family’s experience with this psychiatrist has been deeply troubling and has led to a significant breach of trust. My mother was evaluated without thorough examination, leading to a misdiagnosis that resulted in her being sent to a facility against her will. This decision was made without consulting any of the contacts listed in her medical records. None of her designated emergency contacts, who were fully prepared to support her and address any concerns, were notified. As a result, her loved ones were left in a state of distress, unaware of her location or wellbeing. The lack of communication and failure to follow protocol by involving her trusted contacts made an already challenging situation far worse. Not only was her autonomy disregarded, but the failure to notify family members also highlights a severe gap in patient care and responsibility. I urge this practice to review their protocols to ensure that no other family endures this level of confusion, fear, and distress over… a loved one’s whereabouts and treatment. Proper communication and responsible diagnosis are crucial, especially in matters that so heavily impact a person’s rights and family dynamics.
