Dr. Zumaira Fatima, MD

Every time I have an urgent matter DrFatima is booked until a month or two later. I had a hospital visit and had to follow up and was told I could a month later. It’s ridiculous!!! I only see everyone else but her. This is not optimal for ongoing care when you don’t see the same person every visit. I will definitely be changing this doctor.

My mother made an appointment for 1130. We ran 10 minutes late and called informing them and they said ok. When we got there they said that our appointment was 1120, which is was not and that Fatima refused to see my mother. They also informed us that there is no grace period; basically if you’re a minute late this doctor wouldn’t see you. Wouldn’t even try to accommodate my mother to be seen within a month. To this doctor, you are just a number, not a patient. I recommend finding care elsewhere for someone who will actually give you the opportunity to perform patient-centered, compassionate quality health care.

I sought firva new internist because my last one just disappeared on me. My nephrologist kindly referred me to the absolutely caring and knowledgeable physician in Northwell - Dr. Zumaira Fatima. She is as charming as she’s highly intelligent. She quickly grasps your health issues and so attuned to all surrounding facets of such issues. For instance, if you mention that you may have IBS and had been tested for lactose intolerance, she asks about tests foe celiac disease, gluten etc. She is quick ti respond and will call you the minute she gets your blood test results. She’s reassuring and kind in a professional but non ostentatious way. Gem doctors are everywhere, but some shine through more brightly.

When you are sick or if it's an emergency, you will not able to get an appointment. I called when I developed a rash on my shoulder and couldn't get an appointment. I was told to go to the local Urgent Care, which I did as I had the rash for a week. It turned out to be an infection, and I was prescribed antibiotics by a doctor that I had just met for the first time with no knowledge of my medical history. A week later, I had a fever of over 100 degrees for nearly 24 hours while still on the an

great doctor. Truly cares! spends time listening to the patient and never seems in a hurry to just process you. Extremely knowlegable

She is an amazing Doctor. Easy to speak to and very attentive.

My doctor was out of town and Dr. Fatima was the covering doctor. Since I did not feel well, I made an appointment to see her but was quite reluctant to even keep the appointment as I had been a patient of my doctor for many, many years. I cannot rave enough about Dr. Fatima's professionalism, her manner, her questions, her attitude, and finally, her diagnosis. It was a pleasure to meeting with her and I think she sets a high standard for herself and is a doctor I would recommend to anyone who wants a caring, intelligent physician.

I saw this doctor for the first time today. She was pleasant and very nice, courteous and professional. Highly qualified. Excellent manner, I would recommend to anyone seeking a physician. I will return to her.
