After speaking with a hospital representative four times I thought I was well positioned to get the scheduled procedure. I felt I was in trouble when I couldn't identify the entrance to the Apple St parking garage. A kind employee gave me a ride, in the hospitals cart, to the right entrance from visitors parking. First, after stopping to learn that i was pre registered i got to the right place where an attendant told me i wasn't properly registered and needed to go back to registration. Once a white male patient indicated that I registered directly in front of him - the attendant softly said to him "there's something wrong with yours as well. She did however call him and three other people, all white, back to treatment rooms, even though I had the first appointment of the day. After waiting a short time I was escorted in. After completing initial paperwork and getting my vitals taken the nurse asked if I had someone to take me home. I did not, in none of the conversations did a mention of a ride home come up. Long story short the appointment had to be rescheduled. The rescheduled paperwork contained what I needed to know to have a successful encounter. I got up at 5 AM to insure my timely arrival for a 7:50 appointment. Second when talking to Seniors some nursing staff invoke vocal intonations that can be interpreted as being talked down to or child like. Although the nurse apologized my time and energy were wasted. And it appeared that follow through by staff was inadequate. And i question why other patients were called in before me. Dr. Townsend Smith is a caring physician and I trust him. However, it is critical to me that I feel valued by the Healthcare system as stated in their mission statements.

They always make me feel unheard. Dealing with the same symptoms for years and they don’t run tests, they treat you like you’re exaggerating or lying

Goes to Miami Valley and tells them I’m in pain…I can’t swallow and I’m going numb and having headaches and a lump. Proceeds to press down on my lump after I tell them I’m in pain “Okay but what did you come HERE for? We can’t help you.” Says they’re gonna write up a prescription for muscle relaxers. Even though lump is red. Me: Just ends up walking out. The doctor wishing me good luck on my way out even though she never handed me the prescription….they didn’t even care if I felt okay. These are the same ppl who made me walk up abd down two flights of stairs carrying my newborn baby even though I had stitches. They all just watched me and never offered to help. Now I’m having severe side pain but I know they’ll just throw painkillers at me so I’m just going to thug it out.
