ER Visit

My first red flag should have been the numerous ppl that left before their names were called in the waiting room. After 5 hrs of waiting, I left and was seen immediately at Holy Redeemer's ER. Clearly, there are staffing issues at Abington as a waiting room with so few ppl shouldn't move so slow. Until reading these reviews, I assumed it might have been this particular night, but now I realize they're just reckless and irresponsible with scheduling. I will never make the mistake of visiting Abington Hospital's ER, again. I would've left zero stars but it wouldn't let the review submit without at least one. Consider it a charity star, Abington.

2 ER visits, 2 stays, 1 operation and numerous doctor visits

Before my heart failure last year, I never had a stay at the hospital. I've had a few ER visits, but never had to stay. I had heart failure and was admitted for tests. I was there for 5 days. When I had my hernia operation 6 months later, I only had to stay overnight. Both stays were better than good. The staff was very polite and the hospital was clean. I've read some of the other reviews and completely disagree. I think this is an excellent hospital.

not taking

Arrived at the Lower Gwynedd Lab on July 19th at 2:50 PM with one person in waiting room and they told me they could not take me after driving 30 minutes. It was one little blood test that would not have taken very long. Very disappointed and website should say that you close at 2:30 and not 3:00 if you cannot take patients at 2:50.

ER visit

All I can say is that if you need care, call 911 and have an ambulance take you. I mistakinly took myself to the Abington ER and it was a horrible experience.

Worst hospital I’ve ever had the displeasure of going to

This is hands down the worst hospital I have ever been to. I took my 10 month old daughter to their emergency room after she ran a 103 fever for three days and broke out in a horrible rash. The nurses who triaged my daughter were extremely unkind. The physician’s assistant who saw her was very judgmental and rude. Her diagnosis was a urinary tract infection and she was prescribed antibiotics. However, when I read her paperwork upon discharge, I discovered they had charted her weight as an entire 7 pounds less than she actually was and in turn prescribed her the wrong dose of medicine. After speaking to an incredibly rude receptionist who doubted my claims that they charted her weight wrong as if I didn’t know how much my own kid weighed, they suggested I bring her back in. They re-weighed her and admitted the initially charted weight was way off, yet offered me no apology. After she was seen by a doctor, I was told she didn’t even have a urinary tract infection and instead had Roseola. So these people not only gave my daughter medication with the wrong dose, they gave her medication she didn’t even need for something she didn’t even have. And still no apology. Had they charted her weight incorrectly with it being higher than it actually was instead of lower, they could have overdosed my child on medication that, again, she didn’t even need in the first place! These people are extremely incompetent at best, and insanely negligent at worst. Never bring your child here if you value their health and safety.

Admitted/ ICU

My mother has been admitted since 4/10/2021 and her health has declined instead of improving. My mom was talking, texting, and FaceTime me 3x a day and is now on a ventilator. I have asked to see her. There needs to be review of your Covid policy for people that have rapidly declined and are beyond the vital shedding stage. I regret bringing her for care to Abington. My mom has suffered a stroke and I can’t be there. I have asked every doctor or nurse over the phone. I need to see my mom To hold her hand and encourage her to fight to live!
