Emergency room

I took a friend to the ER. They ordered a urinalysis only. She waited four hours to see a doctor only to be told she had a UTI. He ordered a shot of antibiotics. It took an hour for the shot to be administered . A urinalysis test takes about five minutes to perform but it takes five hours for a patient to be treated.

Poor performance by PT team

When I was discharged from Sibley Hospital in Washington DC following an anterior procedure of total hip replacement surgery, the PT team handed me a wrapped package containing a raised commode with metal arms. Once I arrived home, the commode was way too small (I am a large person) but it was all wrapped up and the PT team who I worked with did not bother to either check if it fit me (or notice I was large after working with me three times!?). The metal "arms" were right where my incision was and squeezed against my dressing when I sat down and got up off the chair. I used it for one day. The incision started to leak blood all out from the dressing where it had been pressed against the commode. I called Pharmaquip and they said since I had used the commode they wouldn't give me a new one or exchange it. I had to find a neighbor who could go out to a medical supply and find a commode I could get up and down on/off that would not scrape my wound. This is maddening and irresponsible first of the PTs at Sibley who didn't bother to measure me to see if I would fit on a standard commode and 2nd on the part of pharmaquip once they knew I had been issued equipment that damaged me. I subsequently had to go to the surgeon and be taught how to apply "wet to dry" dressings twice day and then visit him once a week to check the wound for several weeks until it began to recover from what the commode did to the incision wound.

John Hopkins Primary Care at Sibley Hospital

This is the worst primary care office i have ever been to. In the 25 years of working in the medical field i never seen anything like it. To schedule an appointment you are on hold for at least 20 minutes or more the wait time is 45 minutes in the waiting room and another 45 minutes to an hour before you see an physician. Consulting with a physician that does not listen to your problem and to rush you thru your visit is a waste of time. Trying to get your prescriptions filled is another journey. I have went three months trying to get my medications filled and no success. I have a history of asthma, TIA and MI and T2DM so its very important to follow up with my health they have a nurse ELHAM there who argues with me regarding brand and generic medications which i have worked in pharmacy for 15 years as a pharmacy technician and 25 years doing nursing. She refuses to fill my medications stating i have to have a second office visit to switch to generic medications. I called lab corp to get a copy of my lab results because i have not heard from no one in the office and of course no one followed up. I CAN GO ON FOR DAYS REGARDING THIS PRACTICE!!!! PLEASE IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE AND YOUR FAMILY LIFE DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THIS PRACTICE . THE ADDRESS IS 5255 LOUGHBORO RD. NW SUITE 300 WASHINGTON DC.
