Terrible Patient Care

Avoid this hospital at all costs. My husband sat in the ER for over 8 hours with pancreatitis. When after 8 hours there were still 25 people ahead of him waiting to be admitted, he decided he would be more comfortable at home and alerted the triage staff that he was leaving. 2 months later we received a bill which included a $1,100+ charge for "Private Room and Board"!!!!! He never left the ER nor did he make it to a private room. I've made several calls to Howard County General Hospital about this bogus charge and they said that they stand by the charge. They admit he never received a private room but said that if a physician feels the patient should be admitted, they will write the orders and once the orders are written the charge is applied and can't be undone - whether it came to fruition or not. I'm speechless. I've been dealing with this issue for almost a year and have gotten nowhere. I most recently spoke with Kim Scribner at HCGH who refused to detail the $1,100 charge when I said I wanted to understand the details of the amount. She told me to google it myself!!! She then hung up on me when I asked to speak to her supervisor. Bad care and bad customer service. Although reading the online reviews, seems this treatment is par for the course at HCGH.

The best!!!

I came to Dr.Blam in really bad shape. I had seen Dr.Blam once in the past, however it was when I first started to have issues with my back. Because it was so soon he recommended PT. I ended up staying in PT for 4 months, while also seeing a pain management doc. Finally after a year of CHRONIC PAIN, depression and having my quality of life drastically change, I decided to see a new Doc, which happened to be Dr.Timothy Yoon. I went to Dr.Yoon because the pain management doc that I had been seeing refused to send me for a new MRI. Dr.Yoon sent me for a new MRI on my first visit, and reached out to me to discuss treatment. Thank god Dr.Yoon ordered the MRI! I decided that I wanted to go with the surgical option. Well on 3/23 I had a Laminectomy and Disectomy on my L5/S1. I'll never forget, getting out of the bed just hours after waking up in recovery, and feeling NO NERVE PAIN. I thought, OMG this is weird, it was gone! I've had very little nerve pain since my surgery!!! Usually I'm only having issues if I'm doing too much. I'm now 3wks post op and I'm VERY HAPPY with the results from surgery. Dr.Yoon found out what the issue was, and Dr.Blam FIXED it!!!!!! The best doctors EVER!
