What is HCAHPS?
The HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Survey, is a standardized survey instrument and data collection methodology that has been in use since 2006 to measure patients' perspectives of hospital care. The HCAHPS survey is administered to a random sample of adult patients across medical conditions between 48 hours and 6 weeks after discharge; the survey isn't restricted to Medicare beneficiaries. You can learn more here.
*CMS has created the HCAHPS Star Ratings in order to enable consumers to more quickly and easily assess the patient experience of care information that is provided on the Hospital Compare Web site. Star ratings also allow consumers to more easily compare hospitals.
** HCAHPS data is broken down into the following buckets; definitely recommend, probably recommend, probably not recommend, definitely not recommend.

Rapid decline on care since 2017

I have decided not to obtain care from this hospital. When one cannot trust sensitive information with allied health professionals in the speech therapy departmen Kelly Ssalsas and her boss Dan who can a person trust. A new hospital behind the times. They added to my secondary trauma. Offer resources instead of telling a person to leave and cancel all future appointments. If you are not indigent look elsewhere for any all care. They need to be trauma informed so they do not deny care to sexual assalt victims such as myself. This did set off a cascade of events which led to the reporting of the event to law enforcement. Thank you KellySalsas for starting the cascade of events that led to law enforcement becoming involved. Your patients will thank you. I’m getting far superior care now that I’ve left unm Sandoval. I thank you for that.
