Sensitive or Bad news should not be given to someone without a family/friend at her side. I suspect this was a very young physician who managed to do this. My friend had 2 long life friends, one available in person if need be and the other by phone. So, this admission one doctor NEVER passed her angio results on to those in the waiting area or even bothered to call the number listed on the chart which was REQUESTED. I believe Dr. Bertram with Interventional Cardiology was the physician involved. My very sick friend then has I believe the same physician approach her in the dialysis unit (knows no one) to give her very distressing news WITHOUT any support of her life long AVAILABLE friend . The result of this lack of compassion has reached even further to her physical well being. (Heightened anxiety, causing blood pressure to sky rocket, lung issues). She is now moving into an ICU bed THANKS to this doctor. I realize we would all be upset with the news including my friend but this SHOULD have been handled VERY differently. IN WHAT world of hospitals is this type of behavior acceptable? Please LEARN from this REVIEW. (The nurses were very sweet ). I pray she never has to enter this hospital again and certainly is not handled by this physician. Dr Gun was very good according to her

Had a horrible experience in the ICU at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. In my opinion this is the worst , most incompetent group of doctors I have ever seen in one place. They made a lot of money making bad decisions for my brother . He was talking and breathing on his own after a truck accident. They decided to not listen to the back doctor and go ahead with surgery. They could not do the surgery because they caused him a stroke . He came back to the room seizuring and on a vent . they went ahead with the surgery days later after his vitals were better, to make money on him. He had to be taken off the vent because of the stroke they never admitted giving him. It took seven months to get the review which I was suppose to get in 30-45 days. Go at your own risk. Two other people I worked with also had horror stories about Mercy Hospital in Springfield. I wouldn't give them any stars if that was an option. Check out the news Mercy Hospital of Springfield, having to pay back $64,000,000 in bogus Medicaid fraud charges.
