What is HCAHPS?
The HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Survey, is a standardized survey instrument and data collection methodology that has been in use since 2006 to measure patients' perspectives of hospital care. The HCAHPS survey is administered to a random sample of adult patients across medical conditions between 48 hours and 6 weeks after discharge; the survey isn't restricted to Medicare beneficiaries. You can learn more here.
*CMS has created the HCAHPS Star Ratings in order to enable consumers to more quickly and easily assess the patient experience of care information that is provided on the Hospital Compare Web site. Star ratings also allow consumers to more easily compare hospitals.

Having no phone, I emailed KRMC at their website to be clear with everything I needed. I didn't want to expose myself more than necessary to possible COVID as I had shortness of breath & other serious problems. You likely know, COVID and existing problems like shortness of breath are a recipe for disaster/death, and why I emailed before showing up in person. I have a very clear to see withered leg due to a bout with Polio as a child, the limp is undeniable & it causes too many pain issues to describe here. I almost couldn't walk, because my legs are so weak from lack of exercise due to pain. I told them all of that. Got no reply. I informed them of that fact, they still ignored me. Drove in, & after possibly exposing myself a few times looking for the right place to get help, I was directed to the clinic. I was told "Doctor Johnson (correct me if I'm wrong, you all have my email address from the web contact) would see me, but she won't write prescriptions for pain". What? I know the problems with drug seekers but to flat out refuse someone pain relief without so much as examining them tends towards very small minded, and that's being kind. So I left. I did go back, but at that point, what they had done was illegal. In the USA, doctors MUST treat pain or refer the patient to someone that will. The receptionist, nor the doctor in the back room whom I had not talked to face to face yet, did NOT refer me to anyone.. I then remember their website said "Pain Management" went back in, and asked them about that. The receptionist said they did treat pain but the pain manager was not there, as if that was her reason for not telling me about the pain Management part to begin with. Clearly they were hiding that fact and just wanted to get rid of me. The Dr said it takes 4 to 6wks to get help from the Pain Manager, but how was I supposed to get around until treatment without pain relief? I told them that I need help now.. I was refused. I explained of records of past pain management, still nothing, but likely half truths...I think she could have helped me then & there. These people insisted on risking my life, unnecessarily exposing me to possible COVID for the several weeks of testing required for pain management, when they simply could have helped me now with a problem that was very easy for them to see, and once a vaccine was found, I could then go through the testing for pain management. Honestly, these doctors & their paranoia, are beyond foolish with the well being/ lmlives of patents. This is just the type paranoid, small minded mentality who won't take care of pain properly after surgery...I've encountered it before. Go elsewhere. There was a guy in the clinic who appeared very ill. He was complaining about something, not sure what, but he did mention the COVID Virus. That's all I understood. Whatever the case, I tried by emailing first & should never have even been exposed to any of this. At least 1 Dr at KRMC has lost track of reality, they are turning away what their lazy/biased little minds see as drug seekers. They take the easy way and just say no to all, and pretend to do so in the patents best interest. They haven't the sense to properly discern, and they are turning away those who are in great need of treatment. They are ignoring their Hippocratic oath, as well as breaking the law. You can report these people to several agencies... google it. Contact Legal aid, and take these doctors to your local court for help. Call your HMO, Medicare/Medicaid, or even get some ambulance chaser after them, and sue for negligence/malpractice. Yes, I've looked into it, not treating pain is considered malpractice, & it should be. KRMC failed miserably at doing all they can to keep patients safer from the virus (Clinic had no safeguards, no temperature testing at door, no masks, no nothing), they also failed/even broke the law with treatment. Worse yet, they gave me the choice, risk exposure for 6wks at pain management or you get no help with your clear pain issue.
