Sent me away

I went to have a follow up ultrasound for a cyst. The nurse from doctor at green meadows in Catskill ordered for me. Stupid me, I assumed that they sent over the results from my where I had at health quest in Kingston. When I got to hospital the radiologist would not let me do the ultrasound and sent me away because he didn’t have the records from health quest. I lost the rest of the day of pay ( I work per diem in a nursing home). You think they would have called doctor’s office and have results faxed but it was easier to sent me away. Very angry and disappointed.

Imaging Department

Good morning, I wanted to email someone in your Human Resource department regarding an experience I had yesterday at Columbia Memorial Hospital. I cannot find their email so I hope you can pass this along. I had some imaging done yesterday, and truly I have not had the best experience's at your hospital. Last night had changed my entire point of view. You have a women supervising the imagining department named Erin Hoffman. I would love to recognize her and have been doing research trying to find her supervisor's name and information. Erin is the ideal health care worker that everyone wishes to have. She is knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and truly cares about the patients she encounters. This women went above and beyond to assure my comfort and that I was aware in the procedures being performed. She was right on target, I never at any moment felt misled or disregarded as previous times I have visited. She also stayed with me every step of the way. The kind of compassion she has showed me is unteachable it is something we as humans take pride and value based on or own morals and ethics. I cant thank her enough. Her actions have changed not only my outlook on your hospital but it also gave me hope in providers and health care workers. If you could be so kind as to send this to her supervisor. I hope she can be recognized for the outstanding services she provides. She truly is a gem in your hospital and people like her that give patients the confidence to trust those when in their care is priceless. I cant thank her enough for everything she had did for me and for that I am so grateful for. Columbia Memorial Hospital is lucky to have someone like Erin Hoffman. If I can answer anything else regarding my experience please don't hesitate to contact me. Please let Erin Hoffman know that she has made a tremendous difference in the life of one of her encountered patients and that her actions don't go unnoticed. Outstanding

My father went to the emergency room and received the absolute best care , thus saving his life. He was then transferred to the sixth floor and continued to receive wonderful care. All the employees I cane in contact with was extremely professional , knowledgeable,and caring. I would mention names but I'm afraid I'd leave someone out. The staff treated my dad like family. God bless them all.They make CMH special.

No one takes care of the patients

Went to the ER after 8 days after I hurt my arm for anMRI. They refused saying my injury "didnt dictate an MRI then told me if they were correct about what they thought was wrong w my arm it had to be surgically repaired within. 14 days of the injury. They set me up w an orthopedic doc three days later who ended up operating on me quite extensively. After 6 days i was told they would no longer treat me for pain yet said i needed to be treated for it. They said i would have an appointment w pain mgmt the next day but this was a Wednesdayand that doc was out until the following week. I was never contacted so I tried patient relations with no luck. Went above them to a Mr. Vanslyke who never returned my call but after leaving him a message I was contacted by patient relations who said "they were taking the matter seriously" but obviously were not. Over a week went by and i was told to see a different pain dr. Bc once again the other was out. That dr told me he wasnt going to do anything until the other dr came back the following Monday and had a chance to speak w one of my other docs. As a result I had to self medicate with massive amounts of motrin which now I have to see a GI doc for. At the appt I told the new pain doc I wasnt worried about extra meds that I just needed the 30 tablets I had been rx'd for three years yet now they decide they need to speak to my other doc. Why do they suddenly need to speak w my other doc and why if Dr.Klein knew he wanted to speak w my other doc did he not do that the Monday he came back to work instead of making me suffer. Bottom line is that the doctors are all cowboys with no one keeping them in line and patient ts are suffering bc of it. Even when you go to the higher ups they dont return your calls. They must like law suits

I had the misfortune of a kidney stone recently and was treated with excellent care by the staff of the CMH ER
