Inappropriate and Time Lost

My Asian-American 85 yrs old mother visited ER in March 2021 due to a compression fracture (L5 and S1) as well as hand bones fracture from a fall. She was admitted as an "Outpatient" though she had suffered much pain for any movement while laying. Case Manager Therese P, Elizbeth (G) PT (Pediatric?), and PT Duyen N. discharged her home on 3rd day without my consent by sending her with a medical transport that was ordered by the hospital. They actually wanted her out on 2nd day. I thought she should be in a rehab at minimum as she was disable and needed regular PT etc. I wanted a discussion with an orthopedic physician or his/her assessment report before her discharge but none of this available. I left messages without any return call even after the discharge. This made me questioned that she may not be seen by an orthopedic! There were conflicted info. The nurses informed us (during my visit on 1st night and during a call with my brother on 2nd day) that our mother would be assessed by an Orthopedic and PT next day (her 2nd day). In addition, my brother was informed from a nurse that a PT recommended her to a rehab. Case manager informed us differently that these assessments were performed on 1st day. It was a very strange and disappointed experience. In addition, there was only a list of medication that sent home with her with her past rehabilitation physician from a year ago (not hospital) electronic signature that his name was never mentioned this time for her assessment. Are they short in physicians? I have to comment that nurses and aid(s) were tentative, caring, and responsive from my witness during visit on 1st day as well as phone calls. We appreciate these staff but not the management.

Knee replacement surgery

I was extremely happy with the care and service I got from everyone at this hospital, from the personnel that check you in, to the nurses (in all parts of the hospital), anesthesiologists, and of course my surgeon. I plan to get my other knee replaced and will not hesitate to come back. Private rooms, a great selection of food, staff change-overs that include you so you can let the new shift if you need anything, constant information on your progress, etc, etc.

Appears to exhibit discriminatory practices

The front desk attendant just confirmed a white lady they came in After her was taken in the back before her . My girlfriend is African american . I believe these is an issue of discrimination going on here 1st comment Came to the emergency room on 12/3/19 with my girlfriend Nije Darden who was having chest pains , and has a history of a collapsed lung on two prior occasions . She waited and waited , in pain and hard to breath , and even watched those that arrived after her be seen before her . All i can say is terrible serious , just Terrible. It’s now 12/4/19 and we are still waiting . It’s hard watching her is so much pain with others here not nearly in as much pain . But while she’s in pain i will with reviews , and write reviews and write reviews Patrick

Do not come here with pre=existing conditions. They will not treat you.

For the past 30 years I have been diagnosed with ADHD. Over three years ago my main family physician retired. So I began to look for a new Dr in the Arlington area. What I didn't know was that VHC Drs. Don't believe that ADHD ACTUALLY exsists!! (That's a real comment from one of their doctors btw) Over the next three years I have had every one of my orders filled in correctly. Or a simple routine visit turn into one excuse or another why they can't fill my monthly medications. Also, to out this into a little more perspective, I am a 50 year old man, with a wife and son, who works long hours for the US agency for global media , under the State Department. My time to deal with these issues is limited. Finally, after 3 years I had enough and contacted their office management to correct all the prescription errors and Drs, inability to during their basic jobs. What followed was yet another long, drawn out drama of Drs trying to redirect the needs of their paying client, to blame anything other than their own incompetence. Drs egos are so fragile and don't like to be told they are wrong. So I am writing this to anyone who would come here. Save yourself time and money. Go to another practice. Any other practice but the VHC group. Remember, they don't believe your are sick. Or have medical issues. And when you insist on your basic human rights to be seen and looked at they will turn you away. It's not about your needs.But about them wanting to seem right, when they are wrong.

This place is a hoax.

This place is a hoax. My wife went to the clinic and they sent her here to check up. She had a chest pain and It didn't get any better after taking medicine. We waited for 2 hours then they let us into the hallway of the emergency rooms. We wait for for another hour before they go and do standard checkup such as blood and urine. Although the clinic told them to do X-Ray and CAT scan only. We try to be patient and wait. We ended up waited for 2 hours before they go ahead and do some CAT scan. And after another 2 hours. They said "GO HOME AND TAKE SOME ASPIRIN". Now on my insurance I have a "BILL SAYING I OWE THEM $8,000" After insurance cover "I STILL OWE THEM $2,000" NEVER NEVER COME HERE. I have great respect for doctors but DOCTORS and NURSES here are the worst. The whole time we had to sit in the hallway ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE EMPTY ROOM AVAILABLE. By they way the doctor name is "CHRISTOPHER K LAWLER, CO"

Saved my life-literally.

Dr Gupta saved my life many years ago and since then has never failed to provide me the very best care and medical advice. He is brilliant, kind, and he listens. He listens to his patients. I’m happy to wait for an appointment because he is the best you’ll ever find.

CT SCAN

All staff encountered were helpful and pleasant. The scan was quickly done. Thus far I have been favorably impressed with VHC locations in Arlington and Alexandria.

This is an excellent hospital!

Those other two so called reviewers are constant complainers, you can bet on it! I've been to the hospital many (unfortunately) times, and the staff and doctors have always(!!) been courteous, caring, and competent (hey! The three C's--should be their new motto). You can be sure those two were the worst patients they ever had (yes, you two)!
