Utah Valley Discriminates Against Overweight People

My daughter has been in severe pain for 2 years. After multiple tests doctors finally found the cause. Her first surgery was scheduled to happen on March 27. Due to covid, they canceled it because it wasn’t critical. Surgery was rescheduled for May 1. They rescheduled because Utah Valley was unable to get her a covid test. Rescheduled for May 29. Canceled because she’s too fat. Yes boys and girls Utah Valley hospital cancelled surgery because a patient’s BMI is one point over their arbitrary number. Rescheduled for June 5 because the BMI index changes in June. They just canceled the surgery at all until the covid crisis is over because Utah Valley is incapable of treating people with a higher BMI. So if you’re fat let me know if you’re getting treatment.

Never go back

The staff at this hospital are slow, uncaring, and downright dishonest. I was told one thing by the nurses and another by the doctor. Left waiting in hospital for a week trying to get the necessary equipment for my surgery. Covid-19 did not allow any visitors and left alone with uncaring providers. I am doomed as I have select health which has absolutely no out of network benefits so I am prisoner to this monopolistic system. Think two if not three times before subjecting yourself to these greedy, uncaring, dishonest "providers".

Three Weeks in Hospital

My husband spent 3 weeks in the hospital in December 2019, so we know what it is like. The nurses are especially hard working and always pleasant (honestly). I spent many a night there in the room with him and never felt in the way.. We both have surgeries coming up, and we know that we will receive great care.

Saved my son's life

This hospital and the attending staff saved my son's life. He fell down a 50' waterfall and was life flighted here. The care, expertise, and love that was shown our family exceeded all of our expectations. We give it our highest recommendation.

My mom was discriminated against at utah valley hospital because she is not white. The whole staff treated her badly. She was having stroke like symptoms when we got to the ER and was really treated badly. I like this place because was born here, but after the experience I will never ever set foot at this place. Discrimination is still real in Provo.
