I called several times last week, was told finally that someone would call me back and now a week later that has not happened. I had Moh's surgery and was referred to the Wound Care Clinic.

Banner Boswell missed stroke happening in their hospital. Doctors in COIVD do not attempt to talk to POA when patient is not communicative and cannot give authorization! They don't review their own past medical records.

Medical Error/Poor Quality

5 years ago today the ICU allow my dad to suffer to the point of asking for a gun or and ax to end his pain. The social worker advised us he could not go home under hospice nor any hospice but Banner. I was not in the correct frame of mind so he went to a Banner hospice received no pain meds and passed away 2 hours later. My Dad has told me on many visits only to be sent home they are going to let me die and they did. I will never go to a Banner hospital based on them hitting a blood vessel trying to drain fluid and not telling us and everything that occurred. My complaints went no where but a doctor calling me telling me the insurance companies make all the decisions.

My mother has been here a week, and has been given very good clinical care. But she has been diagnosed with CHF and needs PT, yet on 4th floor they only have therapy every other day. She had very low sodium, so could not go to rehab until her Sodium went up In the meantime, she did not have PT yesterday at at all, she was not assisted to walk. She only was help out of bed into a chair once yesterday because I insisted. I was advised that patients in the hospital only get PT every other day due to Medicare guidelines. Well then nursing should be getting patient up and walking them. It is so important that CHF patient's get some PT. I can't believe these patients are getting left in bed all day. Terrible patient care. This is just as important as getting there meds. I don't care that Medicare will not pay for PT. Hospital is still responsible for proper care of patients. I am a retired nurse and we as nurses walked our patients. Something is terribly wrong here. Shame on Banner Boswell!
Incompetent Team Work hurting patients

Unfortunately, the doctors are negligent and incompetent in my experience. Nurses work there, who should not be in this profession. Incredible errors with their medical records, as well. Thus, only one star can be given.

I was admitted to the hospital 5/16-5/20 through the ER for shortness of breath and chest pain. I was triaged by two gentlemen, and had an EKG done by Charles. I was wearing scrubs from another company I work for and he said I’m going to cut those scrubs off”. I could hardly speak except to say no your not. I had many tests done and only seen pulmonary Dr Yonan twice who first said it was anxiety and day of discharge said it was psychosomatic. When asked him to clarify he said it was in my head. Nurse Rene was in the room and said it was inappropriate what he said. On 5/18, I had an episode of not enough air and feeling I was dying. Respiratory and nurse, Christene were in my room with my sister who told them to get a doctor. Christene said she didn’t know where he was while I’m in panic not able to breathe and coughing. Respiratory got me on a bipap machine to help. Christene also checked my lungs and said there was crackling. Dr Yonan said there was never crackling but records show there was. On 5/20, I asked my nurse, Cynthia how much longer it would be before discharge papers were ready. She said she would start the process after being told 4 hours prior I could leave. My sister sighed at the long wait and Cynthia asked my sister”am I pissing you off”? I was in shock as I too am in the medical field and would never speak to a patient or family member like that. I will never return to any Banner hospitals and will not recommend to anyone. There are too many good people wanting jobs to care for and I can’t understand why Banner would keep such rude employees. I needed care and treatment and received the opposite. Never again will I or my family be verbally abused or threatened to cut off my scrubs when I was unable to defend myself. Very hostile environment.

My mom went in for a major cancer surgery on Monday February 25th. The surgery went well. The surgical team was amazing! We ended up with a serious blunder that happened caysed by a copmplete lack if communication among the nursing staff. Somehow after her surgery and being tranferred to the third floor nursing staff. No one informed the next nursing staff that my mom took thyroid medication daily. I noticed this the morning after her surgery and brought it to the attention if her day nurse Dorthy. Nurse Dorthy said it was not in her chart as having been ordered and that she would contact the doctor for orders right away. By Friday my mother was not doing okay. She was showing signs that resembled not taking her thyroid meds. We asked my mom if she had been getting them and she was so ill she could not remember. We went to her nurse and asked only to find out that the first nurse had not followed through with getting the order for her thyroid medication and no one else had caught the mistake all week. Nurse Destiny emediatly look and found ut was listed in her registration. Destiny immediately contacted my mom's doctor and took care of the situation. My mom would have been able to go home that Saturday if this had not happened. She ended up staying two more days until they brought her levels back up. Uf you have family un this hospital you should pay close attention to ensure everything you know about your family member has been conveyed to everyone entrusted with their care.

They Stole My Money
Self-verified patient of Banner Boswell Medical Center - Posted on November 16th, 2018
Whatever you do, avoid Banner Health facilities at all costs! I went to Banner Boswell Hospital Radiology for some testing over 2 months agoThey charged me over $110, which was way over the contracted price, which my insurance covered at 100%. I paid with my flexible spending card. I asked for a detailed statement multiple times, and still have not received one. My flexible spending company advised me to download the explanation of benefits and send it to them. The EOB shows that I did not owe anything, so they suspended my card until Banner refunds the money back to my card. Billing customer service refuses to allow me to speak with the refunds department. They just keep telling me that I have to wait, even though it has been over 2 months. I have read several reviews on Facebook with similar stories. What a corrupt company!
