Awful

I had the worse experience I ever had in a hospital. I had burns that weren’t treated. The nurses were always late with meds and got an attitude when asked. I realize they are short handed. They were visiting each other ands having a great time. My room was right across from the nurses station. The nurses I saw were not urgent at all. My doc got me a home care nurse to treat my wounds.

Rights were violated

I just came from this hospital this morning after being put on suicide watch from a lying Physician assistant. They took me and my husband phone and car keys. We were assaulted by Chaz and Security guard when I refused care/ first right. Next I was forced to get completely naked in front of 3 male doctors as they all starred and watched me like some perverts. My husband was furious and I felt so violated, embarrassed and discussed. No one was allowed to visit or check on me. Black female social worker lied to my mom that she would give me the message to call her. She Never did. My husband is black and I am Hispanic. All nurses and doctors were white. When they forced me to undress, I felt like how slaves felt being pranced around naked to be folded into slavery. I am making a complaint with Joint Commission on Tuesday and I already have my lawyer. Never again will Chaz, the PA, the social worker and incompetent bad bedside manner healthcare workers treat anyone else like this. My husband is in the Airforce and his Sargent had to call the social worker to get us out of there. Negative stars

Poor management and inadequate process for scheduling medical procedures

We will not ever use Banner Boswell due to their arrogant attitude toward the patient. No one to talk with unless they contact the patient and indifference to the needs of these patients. They dictate when they will allow certain procedures without the consult with the patient or physicians and the bureaucracy overshadows any positive actions they take.

Find another hospital if you can

This review is also posted on Yelp. Is it possible to give a negative star review? This review could be pages but I can only caution patients to make sure they are visited regularly and often for at least several hours at a time. And speak up. The doctors may be okay but the nursing staff and CNAs are pitiful. One big trick is to keep the patient’s door closed so the call button and IV beeping doesn’t interfere with their cell phone activities. I observed this personally on my brother’s 18 day stint in October 2020 and again just recently earlier this month of April 2021. October visiting hours were quite curtailed but I was able to sit with him for 3 hours one day, and 6 hours a couple of other day. By April 2021 nothing had improved. Call buttons went unanswered and the closed door habit continued. My brothers stay in April went from 2 days to 5 days due to a nurse’s error. He almost died due to that. Yes, I did have an extensive conversation with the nurse, Nicole, in charge of the staff in 5D. Boy, did the staff hop to it when they knew she was watching. I forgot to mention to her that nurse Tricia believes she is underpaid and feels she should be paid what the doctors are. This she announced to her patient, the hospital roommate of my brother while I was also in the room. I would suggest staying as far away from this hospital as possible. It serves a high percentage of seniors. Maybe that’s why the staff feel they can get away with such pitiful service.

TV Commercials Count More Than Patients

I was being discharged after successful hernia surgery and a one-night stay, all of which went well. However, a TV commercial was being filmed in the main lobby and everyone had to use a side door with a two-inch threshold, over which the nurse pushed my wheelchair. Felt like my stitches were going to pop loose! She was apologetic - said no one told her about the dropoff! Bottom line - inadequate training and misplaced priorities.

No patient care in ER

I was sent to ER from Cigna Urgent care to see Dr. Macgregor after ekg showed I was having premature ventricular beats, shortness of breath. They drew blood and did blood work up. Arrived and was hooked up to ekg and waited. A man who said he was working with Dr. Macgregor came in, made light of what was happening and said he would talk to the doctor. I brought the ekg report from urgent care which showed the pop’s. Their machine was not picking it up even though I could still feel it in my chest. He never came back. Nurse came in and inserted IV and took more blood. He left the tubes on a mobile cart that was in the room. Another nurse came in, saw the tubes and said they didn’t order a blood draw! I was seen by someone from Cardiac Solutions with whom I was to follow up with. After she left I sat in the room for over 1 hour, not having a clue to what’s going on. Flagged down a passing nurse (?) and asked what is going on? She didn’t know, left, came back and they released me. I will never go back to this Er again.

Don't go to banner boswell

Don't go here for any type of procedure. The nurse (I think his name was Matt) will label you an IV drug user if you have chronic pain and ask for pain medication. I have been seeing pain management for 5 years. I have never touched any illicit IV drugs, and he put that in my chart! On too of this he refused to give me adequate twilight sedation for my procedure. I was literally awake and crying during a bone biopsy. I would not take my dog here.

If you can't service your patients, close your doors.

Sent over from Urgent Care for admission - Admitting closed. Sat in ER until 2:00 a.m. If we had known how poor the treatment, we would have gone to a different hospital.

I was a patient

I was taken there by ambulance for hyperglycemia. For 11 days I experience the worst day of my life being here at Boswell. The nurses need to treat the patients like humans! I would ask for water I do drink lots of water it would take them 3 hours to bring it, they ignore you if you have pain, elderly like me screaming for help! I started to get weak day by day not any kind of therapy to help me sit or stand. As days pass I was left alone. With this pandemic family couldn’t come to help me. My daughters would call every day to get update and try to talk with me. There excuse I only curve like ball sleep all day! Finally after so many calls from my daughter, I got released but not because of my daughter? Because they didn’t secure the bed rails and I feel to the floor hurting my 80 yr old body. The nurse called my daughter to pick me up I was released at 7:30pm after I fell! My daughter try’s to call to get my meds I need. All they do is pass the message to the next nurse on shift and we don’t get an answer! My daughter heard the nurse and assistant talking they forgot to mute the phone. How my daughter called after my released that she needs my med to be prescribed. They were talking among each other saying she doesn’t understand that I told her to call at 8 am when the other nurse shift I don’t want to handle this and don’t have the time! All I need is someone to put on my chart to have the doctor prescribe my medication needed they gave us the instructions but no prescriptions! Horrible place!!
