HCAHPS Patient Score
What is HCAHPS?
The HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Survey, is a standardized survey instrument and data collection methodology that has been in use since 2006 to measure patients' perspectives of hospital care. The HCAHPS survey is administered to a random sample of adult patients across medical conditions between 48 hours and 6 weeks after discharge; the survey isn't restricted to Medicare beneficiaries. You can learn more here.
*CMS has created the HCAHPS Star Ratings in order to enable consumers to more quickly and easily assess the patient experience of care information that is provided on the Hospital Compare Web site. Star ratings also allow consumers to more easily compare hospitals.
** HCAHPS data is broken down into the following buckets; definitely recommend, probably recommend, probably not recommend, definitely not recommend.

This review pertains to Kathie Golic at the Bellevue Overlake Rehabilitation location. She is a PT that talks about other patients she is treating. Real professional. So much for patient privacy. I transferred care because I didn’t like her conduct. This is sensitive treatment and should come with training for those providing it. Discussing one patient with another shouldn’t be tolerated. I chose to update my review from February after learning that she will be doing “missionary” work in Africa around this topic. I can’t even imagine her having the professionalism to work with people of color in another country. Sounds like an excuse to vacation and to get praise. Her comments have been classist and borderline racist. Be careful to review your bills from your visits. She is almost always late to her appointments and will then hold her patients over under the guise of “caring”. I was horrified to find out that I was billed for increments of treatment that were longer than either my husband or I remembered being in her office or warned about. I felt like I was charged for a lot of time when we were talking socially. Just get down to business and help your patients. I went to the University of Washington. They are compassionate, culturally sensitive have ethical billing and the highlight is that I am feeling better. Skip the smile and go get care from someone who will actually treat. If I could give her ZERO stars we would. Her conduct should be reviewed.
Had terrible experience

I was sent to Overlake emergency from my neurologist because I was having a lot of pain that the doctor couldn't figure out why. First thing they did was gave me lots of paperwork for me to sign. I told her I'm in such pain that I can't read it before I signed it. I understand the policy, but there was no compassion at all. " Can't see you if you don't sign it." was all she said. Then they want to take a couple of MRI's Which I Just did a month ago and it's all in the chart that was transferred from my neurologist. So they said that I need a brain MRI. I told them no dye. They administered it to my i v so quickly that I didn't have a chance to refuse it. And then there is the big bill from treating Physicians that are not in my network Even though Overlake Hospital is in my network. Will not recommend Overlake hospital EM.
