Unprofessional and inappropriate nurse

* My father was admitted to Lansdale Abington due to unexplained atrial fibrillation with chest heaviness and shortness of breath into the telemetry unit where we met his second nurse the next day, Jen P * She stated my father had no runs of tachycardia and that the metoprolol was preventative when in reality he had tachycardia every time he got up and it was given to stop it * His nurse was using unclean technique and using her shirt to try to unscrew IV lines and not using cleaning pads * The nurse did not report the suspicion of sleep apnea happening as well that was made in his chart * The patient had pains in his chest and shoulder with and without tachycardia events that were overlooked by staff (not the physician though he was great) * The nurse became distraught when we asked questions (we have medical backgrounds as well which caused the anger because we know our stuff) * The nurse acted unprofessional when we asked for results * We had to leave the room to get the nurse for the IV pump alarm indicated he ran out of a heart-sustaining medication * The nurse rolled her eyes and made inappropriate comments upon requesting a transfer (which the physician said was the right decision) and upon flicking the air out of his IV line (but if she wasn’t going to catch it and do it someone had too and we both have experience so we did) * The nurse had not come in to check on the patient unless we requested and gave very vague descriptions as to what as going on * Arti from dietary, Mykia the nursing assistant, Dr. Simese from internal medicine, Dr. O’Sullivan from cardiology, Nurse Ashley from Medsurg 3, Nurse Sam from Medsurg 3, Dr. Gualtieri from ER, and the rest of the ER staff were all great and I can not thank them enough for working so hard to find answers for us and get us transferred to a facility equipped to handle this (will be transferred to Leigh Valley) * The experience we had with the nurse though has caused this low rating because this community hospital seems to have some great staff but some really negligent staff as well

Bad experience

My 92 year old mom arrived by ambulance to the emergency room sat night. No beds were available so they put her in the hallway. When they let me in to see her that's where I found her, unattended. She was frightened and vomiting, looked like no one was watching. On one talked to me or would even look at me. I had to ask why she was in the hallway. Discharge was also mishandled. I told 3 different people the day before her discharge she would need an ambulance to get her up stairs. They started those arrangements after discharge not the morning of so she was home 4 hours after her discharge. And the hospital Ambulance company had the wrong time. The place is a nightmare.

Insulting and incompetent

I was sent to Er (of any hospital) by my dr due to an abscess tooth with an allergic reaction To antibiotic . I was accused of being on meth bc of the abscess tooth and the rash that resulted from the allergic reaction to antibiotic . I offered a urinalysis . They declined. I was told I would be sent home with 2 scripts of the sane antibiotic that caused an allergic reaction as well as Atarax which is an antihistamine. What I was actually sent home with was one script of the antiobiotic with no pill amount to dispense therefore it’s not getting filled and a hydrochloride script with discharge instruction s for a completely different medicine that I was never prescribed or told I was being prescribed. My question is are they on meth?!?! How does a hospital make that many mistakes for one Patient? I was the only Patient in the ER. All beds were vacant and no one was in waiting room. Disgraceful ! s

SHAMEFUL FACILITY! SHAMEFUL STAFF! SHAMEFUL SERVICE!

As an almost 25 year military veteran who's been fortunate enough to serve around the globe, and been in quite a few hospitals and medical facilities. This hospital is by far the worst I've ever encountered! Earlier this month, I had the misfortune of visiting this hospital's ER during a medical emergency of severe pain in my shoulder, arm, and fingers. Now, I understand that there are basic protocols that have to be performed such as collecting name, address, identification, etc. But between the lack of expediency, the rude dispositions, the dismissive attitudes, and the lack of actually trying to identify a problem, this "clinic" was an utter waste of time. After requesting to speak with the reception nurse's supervisor, because of her rude demeanor, I was met by two nurses who acted as though they would appease me by showing me to a room and taking my temperature and blood pressure. The rest of the visit was all downhill from there. I had a "nurse" actually snatch a piece of paper from my hand when she realized I didn't care for her rudeness. That was not very professional Nurse Mary. I was talked down to, condescended to, and ultimately sent home with a "you don't actually have an emergency" comment". The "doctor" ordered an x-ray of my shoulder and wouldn't you know it, they x-rayed the WRONG shoulder and then apparently tried to blame me for the mistake! Is this even for real? I was also told that "yeah so you may wanna see a neurosurgeon but you know they don't usually work in the evenings they're more 9 to 5. So it's not like there's anything more we can do unfortunately". Fast forward 3 days later, when I was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Penn with even more severe pain in that same arm. The staff there quickly attended me and eventually diagnosed me with a herniated disc at cervical segment 4 and 5 (C4-C5)! They immediately helped to ease the pain and gave me the necessary information and recommendations to follow-up with my primary doctor. I'm on the road to recovery and I'm thankful to the doctors at Penn Medicine for taking my complaints seriously. Shame on Abington - Lansdale Hospital! I've reported my experience at this facility to hopefully prevent someone/anyone else from receiving the same horrendous treatment that I received. Disgraceful! UNSAT!
